"Hanako, a word please." Professor Flitwick asked as I was leaving charms and heading to DADA.
"Yes Professor?" I asked not knowing what I could have done.
"I have ran it past all of your teachers and we have all come to the unanimous agreement to take you to ministry testing to see if we can place you in a higher class. I am going to escort you to testing and bring you back. If you do not want to move to a higher class afterwards then you do not have to."
"Alright Professor. It would be interesting to see how I place anyways. When is the testing?"
"In about an hour. Let's go down to Hogsmead so I can apparate to the ministry. Professor Mcgnagall will meet us there and stay with you during testing since she is your magical guardian. Others will come and go during their planning period to check up on you and moral support."

We walked in silence to the village and my grandmother figure was standing just outside of the gate.
"Hold onto my arm. It is almost time for the test." She said.

Once we made it to the ministry, we were led to a room with a single desk in it. The outskirts of the room were lined with chairs and officials began to fill those chairs.
"Alright, we are here today for the testing of one Hanako Evans. Seeing as it is rare for a first year to need testing me are taking this with caution to insure fair and accurate results. We will begin with Transfigurations and end with potions." A woman who somewhat reminded me of a pink toad said.
I was told to sit in the desk and a man in dark purple robes placed a match in front of me.
"We will start with year one and work our way forward. Please turn this match into a needle then I will inspect it before you turn it back." The man said.
Me, having a talent for sharp things in transfiguration, I accidentally made the needle too sharp but no one noticed. I was then told to change it back.
"Alright now for year two. You will be granted the name and motion of the spell but that is it. No further instructions will be given. Now change this book into a bowl." He said placing a list of spells by me and a book in front of me.
I pointed my wand at the book and said the spell without needing to look at the paper since I was allowed to read all of the books in Minie's personal library.
"Mutatio Commutatio"
I focused on the pages liquidating before swirling into the shape of a bowl. I then made little indentures on the rims and then I made it harden to seal the shape.
"Alright. That was good. Next level, please turn it back into the book."
"Revertatur" I said repeating the same mental steps but backwards.
"Okay, year 4. Take this mouse and make a goblet. The spell is on the sheet of paper."
I looked down on the little white mouse. It's whiskers were twitching and it's heart rate was accelerating. I slowly reached out to pet it to calm it down before I started to transfigure it. I heard it's faint cry of pain while I forced it to become a plain silver goblet.
"Adequate. I would have liked more details but young witches tend to want the animals to transfigure quickly rather than forcing the finer details. Now for year five, reverse it." He said the first part kindly but the last part rather harshly.
I set my wand down for this part spite the odd looks it got me. I picked up the goblet carefully and I focused my magic on it, I slowly, as to not cause any unnecessary pain, made the goblet revert back into the now traumatized mouse. I stroked it into a light sleep once it was breathing again.
"Now for year six. Take the piece of string on the desk and turn it into a snake that is at least six feet long."
"Anguis Crescere" I said and focused on the length first before changing the quality to be scaled and then started to give it life. In roughly 40 seconds, I had a six foot exactly black snake slithering on the desk.
"Now change it back. And then you will take a written exam to see how you will score." The man said somewhat happily.
I reverted the snake back into the string before it could eat the mouse. The man stepped back into the sea of witches and wizards and the pink lady stepped in front of me and gave me an inkwell, a quill, and a paper test.
"I am Daloris Umbridge and I work closely with the minister. I will be giving you your DADA testing after this and all of your written exams. You may now begin." She said then stepped back.
The test in the beginning was very simple. It just asked the basic rules of transfigurations there are only five main principles with the main one being related to alchemy. The simplicity ended on question twenty seven of the one hundred questions. I have only really studied in great detail through year three but I have read all the simple textbooks for all of the years. In the end, transfiguration is just another foreign language. After you learn the basics in year one, patterns start appearing. That ideology got me to question 80. It started asking me about animagus transfigurations and all of the dangerous backlashes after that. Now that doesn't sound as hard as it actually was. It took me roughly 47 minutes and I wanted to cry halfway through. I didn't though because Irina has taught me the basics of being an assassin and they do not cry over something as simple as a test. Once I signaled that I was done, the man from before walked by and took my test. Now for DADA, it isn't my best subject but I have studied quite a bit of it with Professor Snape and Korosensei. At this point I saw Professor Flitwick leave and my DADA teacher, Profesora Flores, walk into the room. Sadly, she has already admitted to leaving at the end of the year to go on an extended maternity leave and wants to focus on her family. Good for her. But still, she is nice so...
I stopped my not relevant thoughts there since Mrs Umbridge approaches me to give me the practical exam.
"Rather than going down the list of the years, I am just going to give you a list of defensive spells and you will have to perform at least seven of them. I have pulled roughly three from each year so pick one from each level." She waved her really short wand and a training dummy appeared, "Here is your target."
Target, that sounds like a familiar start to an internal monologue that Nagisa has done before classes.
I looked at the list and decided to do petrificus totalis, imobulus, protego, expeliamos,  praesidium, apstergo, and patronus. So leg lock, a sort of freezing, basic shield, disarm, a magic burst of protection, a banishing hex, and the happy guardian.
I told Umbridge which ones I was doing and she busted hummed before she gave her approval. I performed the first four without any problems. My praesidium was a bit sloppy and slow but I thought it was good for a first time. Apstergo took a little longer than it should have but eventually the dummy disappeared, it did however leave part of its head behind but I got it with a second cast. Then when I got to the patronus I tried to think of a happy time with Karma and Nagisa but it seems like I need to find a happier experience since I could only make a large cloud of sliver mist that I could kind of see fangs in but that was it.
"Well Miss Hanako, it seems like you need to read over your text more carefully. Not very awe-inspiring but decent considering your age, I say you are just above average but could possibly earn an E on the OWLS at this point in time. Here is your test, begin." The pink witch said handing me a packet once again.
I am absolutely terrible at DADA so I was not actually surprised. Korosensei said something about how my core would rather perform dark spells than defend against them but I am young enough to be able to learn the defensive spells as long as I practice them more. That being said, I studied them a bit more than most other things so the paper test was super easy. Once I was done, the pink witch took my papers and told me it was time for charms. Professor Flitwick came back and Profesora Flores left.
A man with long blonde hair and elegant green robes stepped up.
"I will be testing you in Charms. Just find a way to float the feather, enlarge it, shrink it, and light it on fire. Then you will douse the fire in water, summon paper birds, and make the second feather explode. Do this now and in that order." The obviously pure blood wizard said with an uncaring tone. He then placed two feathers on my desk.
The first three charms are easy and have already been covered in class. I couldn't really think of the spell for fire so I just used the word for ignite in Latin, accendo, and the feather just bursted into flames instead of the stream of fire I was expecting. Oh well, he just said light it on fire, he didn't give specifics. I then put it out with aguamenti  and now the desk it wet. I then made the paper birds appear and do little tricks in the air before I bombarda-ed the feather. It was pretty fun to watch, too loud, but pretty in a chaotic neutral way. Professor Flitwick looked happy but my examiner just didn't seem to care. He walked off and pinkie gave me my paper exam. Like transfiguration, I am good at charms. It just seems natural. Mcgnagall says that my mother was very talented in transfiguration and charms so I guess it is in my blood. I finished the exam, which was actually just five essay questions on random things like what happens when you add multiple charms to objects and explaining how they work.
After that, it was time for care of magical creatures. That consisted of a really old guy holding up images of creatures and making me identify them and say their main traits. I didn't know more than 16/22 of the creatures. The old guy was more than happy to explain the creatures to me when I didn't know them. He even had a pet bowtuckle.
After that I had to write an essay on the History of Magic aka- only Britain's history. They didn't really want any outsider info so I pretty much did a book summary of something I read in the library.
They then made me map out some constellations off the top of my head. The only ones I really know of those are the obvious ones like the dippers and orion, and the ones that are important for advanced potions. I think I did better than I should have on that one.
Then came divination and runes. For divination I pulled out a deck of cards and gave a really lengthy read of cartomancy on the background of the examiner. Then I did a tarot for her future and a palm reading to end it. She also made me answer a few questions on what symbols meant what but that was easy.
For runes I had to use a peace of chalk and made a detailed protection circle on the floor. After that I had to identify runes for a good hour while the examiner inspected my circle.

Then finally came my favorite subject, potions. Professor Snape joined in the crowd and gave me a small and almost unnoticeable smile. For time sake, the examiner, who introduced himself as Horace Slughorn, made up a list of potions and gave me a general recipe book and told me to choose the one that I was most comfortable with. I decided to go with Veritaserum once I learned it was considered a year seven plus potion. At this point in my apprenticeship I don't even need to use the book. I know this potion and all of the others on the list by heart. I crushed my snake fangs and mixed them with powered unicorn horn rather quickly before I cut all of my roots and minced some slightly disturbing ingredients. I put in the less reactive ingredients in the hot caldron first and I let them make a rue. I then added my unicorn and snake mixture and added vanilla beans to sweeten it and force a happy state of mind when the potion is used. I had amethyst stones focusing energy around my potion before I added the spider venom and unicorn hair. I then had to let it boil for an hour so they gave me the written test as I waited. It was the standard 100 questions and I was able to answer them all with ease thanks to Korosensei and Professor Snape for drilling it all in my head. I gently stored my potion clockwise for the last two minutes and it turned a clear color with no odor meaning it was ready.
"Judging by appearance, I am surprised to how perfect it looks. Most beginners have a precipitate in their Veritaserum but this is extremely clear. We need to test it of course, but everything you did was correct." Slughorn said seemly impressed.
"Alright, we will be grading these and we will send your results via mail by tomorrow. You are free to go." Umbridge said in a sickenly sweet tone.
"Thank you for your time." I said bowing my head and leaving with Mcgnagall and Snape.
We exited the ministry and walked into the streets of London.
"I am taking Hanako to lunch since the Great Hall will not have any food till dinner. Come with us Severus." Mcgnagall asked in a way that everyone knew she wasn't asking.
"Since I know you won't accept the answer of no, I will come with. I have no classes for the rest of the day anyway. Where are we going?" He asked in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Where do you want to go Hanako?" Mcgnagall asked.
"If I asked if we could use the port key and go get actual non overly fried or greasy food, would you say yes?" I asked with uncertainty. I am not a fan of fried food and I don't know any good sushi places in London.
"Why not. I can pick up potion ingredients there." Snape said.
"Well then, no argument here, let's go." Mcgnagall said linking arms with Snape and I.
I activated the port key and we appeared in the woods of 3-E at roughly 10 at night due to London being 8 hours behind.
"That never gets better. Anyway, I know a good place in the magical streets. The apothecary is three ships down from it and it has nice quality ingredients there at a good price." I said leading them down the mountain.

"Why is your port key set so high on a mountain?" Snape asked.
"Class 3-E is in a separate building than the rest of the school. The building is on the top of the mountain while the school is about a half mile off of the mountain. The prejudice is pretty bad but the academic reward is the best in Japan. Anyway, it is about an hour by walking from this point of the mountain, 30 minutes by running, and 15 by train so let's go to the station." I said as we approached the bottom of the mountain.
I looked down and noticed I was still wearing my robes so I transfigured them into a knee length pencil skirt and a white blouse.
"Why the change in outfit?" Mcgnagall asked.
"Magical Japan doesn't really wear robes. They are more with the times than Britain. Anyone on the street could be a wizard but everyone looks like a muggle. You two might want to do the same to not draw attention." I suggested after explaining.
Mcgnagall transfigured her clothes into nice jeans and a nice sweater while Snape was in dress pants and a button up.
"Well, let's go explore then." I said leading them both into the train station since they didn't want to walk.
