Final Space: Braden's Adventures

Intro

Braden woke up and got out of bed. He glanced out the window, looking out into the darkness of space. He let out an audible sigh as he stared out, looking out as his own reflection stared back at him with a tired and exhausted expression. The worry and pain of having his brother taken away was getting hard for Braden to handle. Sleepless nights was affecting him deeply, but he will promised himself that he would not quit until his brother is back safe.

Braden headed out of his room and headed to the shower room to take a quick shower. After he headed into the shower, he got undressed and turned on the water to a comfortable temperature. He stepped in and felt the warm water fall all over his brown fur. As he began to feel relaxed, he started to apply soap and lather it all over his fur After a while, the shower was steamy Braden finished and turned off the water and dried himself off. He changed back into his clothes and left.

He headed his way over to the kitchen area, where one of his crew members, Cole, was. He was a gray striped ventrexian with bandages wrapped around his arms and tail.

Braden and Cole have been the closest of friends for as long as they could remember. They known each other for years. The two even dated for a brief time, but that lasted for a few short months and they both ultimately decided just to stay really close friends instead.

"Oh, hey Braden. You're up early." Cole said.

"Yeah. Couldn't sleep that well. How are you doing, Cole?" Braden asked as he got some coffee for himself.

"I'm fine. Just thought I'd get up earlier than usual to get some stuff done." Cole said as he sat down across to him.

"That's good. So, is Lars still asleep?" Braden asked.

"Yeah, I believe so. I haven't seen him so far." Cole said.

"Alright. I'll be right back." Braden said as he got up from the table.

"Where are you going?" Cole said as he also got up.

"Going to wake him up. I need to talk with both of you." Braden said as he got pan and a large spoon from the kitchen and walked over to Lars' room. Cole followed behind him.

Braden quietly opened the door to Lars' room and quietly walked over to Lars, who was snoring in his sleep. Cole stood by the door and watched. Braden started to bang the pan and spoon together next to Lars.

Lars quickly woke up to the loud banging sound and screamed. He looked over at Braden with an annoyed look.

"Braden! What the fuck is wrong with you?! You almost gave me a heart attack!" Lars shouted at him.

"Nothing's wrong with me, Mr. Grumpy. Now, get your ass out of bed. We need to talk." Braden said as he and Cole walked out.

The orange ventrexian sat on his bed and raised his brow. In all the years they've known each other, Lars had never seen Braden act like that before, so he knew that this must have been serious. He got up from bed and got ready to meet up with Braden and Cole.

After a while, Lars arrived to the kitchen area.

"So, what's this about? You woke me from my beauty sleep." Lars said as he sat down with his coffee.

"You're not beautiful, Lars." Braden said as he crossed his arms.

"Don't be jealous." Lars said as he winked at Braden and smiled.

Braden rolled his eyes as Lars flirted with him. "Anyways, I've been doing a lot of thinking lately." Braden said to them.

"About what?" Cole asked.

"Well, the truth is.. I'm so scared. I mean, what if I never see my brother again. I thank you both for helping me in all this, but what if it all fails? W-What if he's already.." Braden said.

"Don't think like that, Braden." Cole cut him off. "I'm sure he's still out there. We just got to keep looking and keep our hopes up." He said.

"Yeah, Braden. We just got to keep our hopes up. Trust me, I know how much it hurts to lose someone close. There's not a day where I don't think about my mother. I don't want you to go through what I did. As your close friend, I want what's best for you. You've been there for me, and now it's my turn." Lars said.

"Wow, Lars. That means a lot to me. Thank you." Braden said as he started to tear up a bit.

"No problem." Lars said as he smiled at him.

"Yeah, exactly what Lars said. We've all known each other for years I've know I've never gone through what you guys went through. But as your friend, I'm here for you and I want what's best for you, Braden. I know you'll do the same for me." Cole said.

"Thanks guys. That means a lot to me. I just hope that he's safe out there." Braden said.

"Yeah, we hope so too. Anyway, anyone hungry?" Cole asked.

"Yeah, I could eat." Braden said.

"Me too. I'm starving." Lars said.

"Alright. Be right back." Cole said as he got up and started to cook breakfast for everyone.

"Oh, and Braden? If you ever wake me up like that again I swear to God I'm going to kick your ass." Lars said.

"Sure you would." Braden said sarcastically as he chuckled.
