Prologue

I loved the stars when I was small
Always drawn to the intangible
I never knew stars wouldn't become planets
Unless they die

My pen sprinted across the sheet furiously, the angry scrawls nearly illegible. My fingertips traced the dents on the paper idly where my pen must have dug in too hard. Seething, I ripped the paper into pieces viciously, just like how Lucas ripped my heart out and toyed with the scraps, and flung them out of the window.

Ladies and gentlemen, please do not litter, or you will be fined with a maximum $2500. And no, I'm not sponsored by the cops, just me being a usual responsible citizen.
