Aokigahara (青木ヶ原). Also known as 'The Suicide Forest' by many. It is located on the northwestern flank of Mt Fuji.
It was certainly a creepy place from a normal person's perspective, especially if you hadn't been to the actual forest itself. With all the news about how many people come to this particular forest to end their lives, I wouldn't blame you if you thought Aokigahara was a terrible place to be. It might seem strange and weird, nonetheless creepy, and this might be a weird opinion, but I think it is a beautiful place.
I went to Aokigahara out of curiosity and came out with many questions as well as a long-lasting scar for reasons I will tell you later, but for now-- this is the first story I will tell you. Anyway, the reason I find the forest so beautiful is the way the forest is so quiet and silent, the way it has such a nice peaceful vibe mixed in with the eerie feeling you can't help but feel when you visit. It is definitely a nice place to be...
Only in the day.
Never go to Aokigahara when the night is moonless, the trees do not sway in the wind and when there is a deep fog. If you do. Run.
Run for your life.
Run without another single thought and get out of there as fast as possible. Without that, you just might not make it out like I luckily, and fortunately did. But don't keep this from making you visit, because aside from this, if you visit in the daytime, it is deserving of the eeriest but beautiful places.
