"Yep and this is the Alamo" he announced. You two were in Texas right now. Specifically in San Antonio's downtown in the river walk. There the old fort stayed.

"What's the story behind it?" you asked excitedly.

"Texas!? What are you doing here"

"Well I heard y'all were coming to visit"

"Well, William Travis, Jim Bowie and David Crokett came to defend it against Santa Anna's army" she started.

"The Alamo was the main connection towards all the settlements, so it was important. Around 16 Texans fought against 6,000 Mexicans. They fought and lasted 2 weeks. They stalled the army so much that the government back then already claimed Texas as a Republic. They were already drafting the declaration. During the battle the Mexicans finally broke in on March 6. The soldiers who survived were captured and executed. Their wives, children, and slaves were set free to spread the news." she sniffed a bit.

"They were truly brave men"

"It was also the day that I lost my eyesight....I was trying to help by shooting them down but David grabbed me and shoved me into one of the barracks where children were hidden. All of the canon shooting made rocks, dust and some wood fall into my eyes. Ever since I wored glasses. But I gave my extra pair to America as a little sign of me being a state in his nation" she grinned.

"Wow....that's an amazing fight!" you beamed.
