It's been a week since Jayden and Tori first met, and it's been a week of their rivalry. From scoring the coolest basket to making it to the cafeteria first, they were always competing. The cherry on top was when she rubbed it in his face that she got an A in their biology quiz, when he got an A—.
He made his way to the cafeteria so he could finally eat. He stopped in his tracks, as he reached his usual table, and frowned when he saw her sitting between Zack and Ethan.
"Why is this bitch here?" he asked.
"Well this is a cafeteria, and currently it's lunch time." Tori answered "Think: where do students go during lunch?"
The guys at the table snickered and chuckled.
"Shut yo' smart ass mouth up! I was speaking to my cousin." he snapped, dropping his burger and drink on the table.
She rolled her eyes and continued eating her burger.
"Chill bro, she's my new bestie." his cousin answered, putting his arm around her neck.
"Best what?" Tori asked and pushed Zack's arm away "Yeah... I never agreed to that."
Jayden sat down anyways and unwrapped his meal. As his friends conversed, he noticed he was eating the same thing as Tori: burger with lettuce, green peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes and mustard. None of his friends shared his like for mustard so that was new to him. Not that she was his friend.
He couldn't help but occasionally glance at her, giving her a stink eye. He really didn't want to be around her. Now being inside her would be a different story.
"Okay is my face bothering you? Cause you've been burning a hole into it since." Tori snapped, looking straight at him.
He frowned, embarrassed that he was caught.
"Nah it ain't just your face, you're bothering me." he replied.
"Oh boohoo bitch, I'm better than you. Never got yo' ass kicked by a girl befo'?"
"Oooh..." the guys at the table chimed.
Jayden clenched his jaw as he clenched his fist. She obviously enjoyed taunting him and he was tired of it.
"Are you even a girl? Look at your transgender wannabe ass dressing up like a nigga and eating as if "she" isn't fed at home." he replied, opening his can as if what he was saying was some harmless small talk.
"Ouch..."
"Damn!"
That hit. Tori felt that knock her over twice but she didn't show it. She simply rolled her eyes and got up.
"Whatever bitch. I hope you choke on your lunch." she said with a tight sarcastic smile.
She left with her almost finished meal, bags of chips and water bottle in hand. The tears stung her eyes but she looked up to avoid letting them out. He sounded exactly like her mom which is what hurt most. She couldn't help it if she enjoyed dressing comfortably, or had a big appetite, or enjoyed brute play. She hated being referred to as a boy or transgendered, but she hated even more that it affected her the way it did.
She walked down the halls to find someplace to eat. She started mumbling to herself, trying to calm herself down. A girl with long black hair noticed her and left the small group she was with.
"Tori!"
She turned around and saw her friend.
"Hey Jade, what's up?"
"You okay?"
"I'm fine." Tori replied a little too harshly.
"You look disturbed though. Want to talk about it?"
Tori bit down on her lip and exhaled.
"I said I'm fine."
"Want to walk?" Jade suggested.
"Why not."
The two girls started walking down the hall and talked about whatever.
Back inside the cafeteria, no one at his table said a word about Jay's comment. He was proud though, he finally put her ass in her place and he was sure she wouldn't bother him anymore.
But he was curious as to why those words specifically riled her up. She seemed so carefree about what everybody else had to say about her so what happened? Was she not fed at home? Was she transgendered? He shook that thought off because he didn't care anyways.

Jayden hid his gun in his glove department and his cash in his backpack before starting his ignition. He drove out of the alley with a sigh, thankful that nothing went wrong once again. He didn't like making dirty money but, he had to do what he had to in order to survive.
He purposely took a few wrong turns, just to make sure he wasn't being followed. Once he confirmed he was on his own, he sped up to make his way back home. He got out with his bag and rushed into his house. Knowing how dangerous his job was, he was always left anxious and/or cautious.
After locking the front door, he went to the kitchen so he could finally eat. When he opened the pot that was left on the stove, it was still completely filled with noodles. He frowned and closed the pot. He went upstairs and barged into his sister's bedroom. Emily, who was sitting in the dark, didn't have the time to hide her cellphone.
"Oh my gosh Jayden! Don't you know how to knock?!"
"Don't start giving me moral lessons Em." he said angrily and turned the lights on "Give me your phone."
"Why? It didn't do anything to you!"
"I pay your phone bills if I remember correctly and they keep getting more expensive." he replied now in front of her bed.
"Don't worry I'm going to sleep." she said sliding into her blanket.
"Why didn't you eat Em? You were on your phone weren't you?"
She frowned and turned to give him her back.
"None of your concern."
"Emily you're addicted and that's not a good thing!"
"Whatever." she mumbled sitting up "Where were you anyways?"
"None of your concern." he mocked her.
She crossed her arms over her chest. He chuckled, then leaned in to leave a kiss on her forehead.
"Just go to sleep please, okay?"
"Yeah, g'night."
"Good night."
She laid back under her sheets and Jayden left her room, turning the lights off. He knew something was up with his little sister but he didn't know what. He wanted to find out but he didn't know how.
