Oh Mister Nook

It was another day in animal village, (y/n) had been there for a while.

Everything was almost perfect in animal village; the villagers were kind, the landlord was fair, everything was easy. If anything, it was perfect.

When (y/n) had first moved there, the first thing she did was meet the lovely residents.

First, there was Isabelle. Isabelle was clumsy, absent minded, and avoidant of confrontation. From what (y/n) had learned, Isabelle was very friendly and respectful despite her dislike of confrontation.

Next, there was Tom Nook of Resident Services and Nook Inc. In a way, Tom was more than just a landlord, he was a friend. He arguably had one of the most important jobs on the island.

(y/n) smiled down at her roses, having just watered them. If she waited long enough, this formation would cause black roses to grown and bloom between them.

She'd finished her tasks for the day, she fished, picked fruit, planted trees and watered her flowers. Today, she even mustered up enough courage to go tarantula hunting.

Hearing an unexpected voice, (y/n) almost had a heart attack - The voice belonged to Tom Nook himself, "Hello (y/n), what beautiful weather we're having out here!" She nodded, waiting for him to continue.

(It seemed like you did the least amount of talking when conversing with others, but you didn't mind listening.)

"Anyways, that's not just why I'm out here!" He flashed her a kind grin "I was wondering what you were getting up to, out here."

(Y/n) tucked away her watering can, turning to fully face the raccoon, "Oh, I was just watering my roses, Thank you for asking." Tom looked over her shoulders at the roses, "They look nice!"

He turned to face (y/n) again, and she could feel somethings was off. "Say..." he began "I'm absolutely in no way trying to rush you, but are you anywhere near being able to pay back some of your debt?"

Noticing the look on her face, he quickly added, "Again, not trying to rush you, it's just... you have been here a while, and I just want to make sure you're planning on paying me back..."

Laughing nervously, she started sifting through some of the stuff she had on her, "I'm sorry Tom Nook, but I'm afraid I don't have enough bells for you..."

He sighed and looked away "Oh well, at least you can say I tried. Again, sorry about this, it's just you haven't come by in a while and Timmy and Tommy are almost getting sad, not seeing you."

"'almost.' wow, thanks Tom" (y/n) thought to herself

"Well, tell them I have a few things to offer them soon!" She waved at Tom Nook as he left.

Thinking to herself, (y/n) sighed, "I need to find a way to pay him back..."
