Part1

"Wait" The figure held up their hands, the blades between their thumbs and the palm of their hand, "You really don't know why we're here?"

Jaime shook her head. Who was this? We? There's more?

Another figure dropped from one of the rooftops above,

"We good to go?" They ignored Jaime entirely. This person walked with a methodical grace, moving too close to silently for Jaime's comfort.

"Kid doesn't know who we are or why we're here," person one sounded annoyed, and almost hurt,

"So? It's safer with us than out here with no one for family," Person two seemed unbothered, bored even, checking hidden blades in their suit as they pluncked down onto the concrete sidewalk.

"What do you mean safer? And I have a family! Who are you people? What's going on?!" She felt tears rolling down her cheeks, and folded in on herself.

Damnit Rosie, you can't cry infront of these people, come on, get up.

But she couldn't.

"Damnit, Nikki, give her your cloak," part in sympathy, part in exhaustion, mostly to make her job a little easier, Nikki threw her cloak the few feet between her and Jaime; who took it a little too eagerly.

"We're from Angel Landing, a demon hunting embassy centered in Fredericton, New Brunswick," Nikki hardly paused long enough for Rosilina to process, "This is James, I'm Nikki, we're here to collect you for training. Since you're a descendant of Neo Reyas, you're most likely to become successful," Nikki didn't shy away from sharpening her words, "Since you turned seventeen sometime last week-" "Happy birthday by the way" "-you're eligible for training, if you want it."

Blunt bitch.

"Unfortunately, regardless of if you want training, you do need to come with us," James paused, kicked a rock at the far wall and then continued, "your great grandmother made many enemies."

"I don't even know you," Rosiline hugged the borrowed cloak around herself, backing away slightly,

"How rude, my apologies," James held up his arms in defeat, "Jaime, meet Nikki, Nikki, meet Jaime," to Jaime's surprise Nikki had taken off the hood and mask, and she was stunningly beautiful, "And I'm James," he held out his hand, Nikki just snorted.

"Come one Jay, we've gotta get back soon," she stood, hood and mask in hand before facing Jaime, "Are you coming?"
