i woke up feeling an empty pit in my stomach. reaching out to my side, i felt nothing. i chuckled at myself and playfully hit my head.
"he left remember?" i said to myself. "he's never coming back."
getting out of bed, my first instinct was to grab some clothes for my shower. my fingers gently slid across the hangers until they stopped on a sweater. it wasn't just any sweater though, it was his. i smiled and took it out of its place. holding it close to me as a faded tint of his scent still lingered.
"thats too bad. this was the only one left that still smelled like him." i sighed. a frown appeared on my face as i thought of losing his scent. nonetheless, i brought it with me to the bathroom. gently placing it on the counter as i remembered the countless times i stole his sweatshirts. but that's just a memory now, isn't it?
i walked outside for my usually dose of coffee. i never liked it, though. but it was the only thing that reminded me of what it used to be like to grab a drink with him.
flashback —
"eek, coffee again? you know that makes your breath stink!" i said as i teased him. he playfully rolled his eyes and purposely placed the coffee under my nose.
"aahh, smells wonderful doesn't it baby?" he said, smiling.
i scrunched my nose and stuck out my tongue. "yeah, but it tastes so bad !!" he chuckled at my remark and gently pinched my cheeks. i pouted. "too bad you love it more than me."
"yah, you're my princess. i'd choose you over coffee any day." he proudly stated. my cheeks flushed a royally red and i shyly hid my head against his chest. "i love you so much. and i won't ever stop."
he lifted my chin up to face him and i immediately got lost in his eyes. he looked at me expectantly and i tiptoed to give him a peck on the lips, earning a rush of pink spread across his cheeks. wrapping my arms around him, i spoke in a soft tone. "i love you too, my prince. i love you more than anything."

"order number 47?" the barista called out, snapping me out of my daydream. "your americano is here!" i made my way over to her and grabbed my drink. thanking her before walking away. i slowly stirred the mix together, hoping it would cool down faster. the scent flew up and my nose was almost tricked.
"how deceiving. it smells so good but tastes so bad." i muttered as i stared at dark brew. "i wonder how he ever liked it.."
"i wonder why he liked it too." a voice, who sounded too familiar spoke.
