Calm time

Silence is law in a town like this no noise but the birds tweeting and the wind singing I like the wind it is my only friend.

I had set up a small party at my house for the new neighbours they had just arrived they were noisy and rowdy one man seemed to lack any care for my house and seemed to like his drink a bit too much for my liking he also thought quite highly of himself he kept saying he was going to get the woman in the kitchen to love him I doubted him very much he was far too cocky so I left him where he was and went over to the kitchen she stud there with her back to me looking at the table in front of her she said she would help with the cooking and asked if I could pass her the kitchen knife from off the board next to the sink I walked over to the chopping board there lay a large stainless steel knife on top gleaming at me I could see a distorted reflection of myself upon its metallic side a stared at it for a second or two then I picked it up I stood there staring at the blade as it sparkled in light how beautiful it looked there light and elegant but so sharp and brutal how it whispered to me "do it" it seemed to say "do it now" and I knew I wanted to I walked over to the woman by the table as she was oblivious to me behind her still brandishing the blade in my right hand it felt weightless as if it was just another part of me an extension of my own arm and it had a purpose and so I put it to work it came as second nature I brought my arm down in an ark knife poised pointing towards her spine I plunged it into her back singing through her clothes and skin like butter how easy it was and how much it filled me with glee to watch as she slowly fell down to the floor and how quickly her blood appeared to flow out of the gaping wound in her back I looked back at the knife it was now blood covered what beautiful patterns it made suddenly I heard a noise from behind me some one was standing in the door way and was now looking at me i turned around with the knife still in my hand by my side the sheer terror on his face I could have just cut off his head and it would have made an amazing mantel piece then I realised it was mister beer loving loud mouth he backed out of the door and ran for his life screaming "he's killed her" and "he's going to kill us all" the next thing I heard was everybody scrambling out of the room I walked out of the kitchen knife in my hand I strolled down the stairs into the basement towards the power box I gave a slight glance to the decayed corpse of my wife still in her wedding gown *sigh* just the same as the day I killed her I reached to the lever to switch off all power to the house and surrounding garden and to the powered gates as I turned around I noticed a woman standing in my basement she wore the same dress as my long deceased wife she even had the same hair her face I could not see so I thought nothing of it I went to dispose of her just like the rest I stabbed down at her then she disappeared I went dizzy and lost all sense of vision it was as if I was watching this through an old TV with too much static my vision returned shortly It had confused me for a bit but then I put it out of my mind and continued to pursue the rest of the members of the party walking up the stairs twirling the knife in my hand with a grin on my face and thought to my self "let the game of cat and mouse begin"......
