She turned around and was in pure shock.

"Did you do all this?" I nodded as she continued to stare at me wide-eyed. The sun was setting and I gotta say... I'm proud of my work. There was a black carpet layed out. On it were some pillows and a picnic basket in the middle. There were rose petals scattered around and my laptop and portable projector. There's a wall perfect for watching a movie.

"Why'd you bring your laptop?" I just smiled and shook my head lightly.

"You'll see."  She frowned. She's not the biggest fan of surprises. "Come on. Let's eat." I chuckled at the fake glare she was giving me. We sat down and I opened the basket. I took out the containers, glasses, and sparkling cider (neither of us drink and I wouldn't let her if she did).

"Damn. This smells really good. What is it?" I smirked.

"It's biryani. I was kinda in the mood for Indian food." I gave her an inocent smile.  "And don't worry. I know you're not a big fan of spice so I didn't make it spicy."

I gave her a spoon and poured her some cider. She took a bite and I'm pretty sure she almost died.

"HOLY SHIT!! This is what you call 'not spicy'? Remind me to never let someone who's part Arab cook for me. Ever." I was rolling on the floor laughing by now.

"Is it that bad?" I asked, honestly wanting to know.

"No it's not bad. It's actually really good. Just spicy."

"Oh. I'm sorry. It's just that to me it's not spicy at all. But I have something that might help. Here. Eat this with the rice. Trust me. I know it seems weird but it's how your supposed to eat it." I gave her the yogurt salad thing that people usually eat with biryani. She looked at me funny but tried it.

"That actually helps. And surprisingly tastes good." I smiled and took some in my spoon and ate it. She slapped my hand away.

"Hey. What the hell?" I said pouting.

"Nope. You tried to poison me with that stuff so this is all mine" she said in a childish voice that made me laugh. We ate the food and drank the whole bottle of cider. Then I pulled another container out.

"Desert." Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when I gave her the chocolate fudge cake. I gave her a spoon and laughed at the way she attacked it. After she was finished about half of the cake (which is meant to feed four people) she asked me if I wanted some. I shook my head and got my backpack. I pulled out the DVDs I brought.

"So I'm not really in the mood for a romantic movie. But I brought Bound, Boys Don't Cry and But I'm A Cheerleader. Thought you might wanna watch your first lesbian movie. But, if you're not in the mood, I brought Finding Nemo, Meet The Robinson's, Despicable Me 1 and 2, and Grown Ups 1 & 2." She looked at me blankly. "Haha it's why I brought the laptop. The projector is hooked up. What are you in the mood for?"

"Um... I'm in the mood for comedy I guess. I can't decide between Despicable Me and Grown Ups. I actually haven't seen any of the four but I've been told that they're really good." I nodded and put all of them back except for Despicable Me 1 and Grown Ups 1. I put them in front of me and told her to pick one. She said she couldn't, so I put them behind my back and shuffled them.

"Right or left?"

"Uh... right?"

"Grown Ups it is. We'll watch the others another time." She nodded and I put the DVD into the computer. I grabbed the popcorn and bowl from the basket and put the popcorn in the bowl. I handed it to her and pulled out a couple sodas. I gave her one and set the movie up. I grabbed the pillows and made myself comfortable. She did the same and we ended up cuddling. We watched the movie and I could tell she loved it. We were laughing like idiots half the time. After it finished I checked the time. Shit. 11:45. She has to be home by 12:30. I packed everything up and gave her the cake so she wouldn't help. In 5 minutes everything was packed up and we were heading to the car with her still devouring the cake. We got to her house at 12:20.

"Before you leave." I pulled the wrapped box out of the glove compartment. "Here. This is for you. Don't open it till I'm gone though." I quickly stepped out of the car before she could say anything and opened her door. I walked her to the front porch and gave her a quick kiss. I waited until I heard her walk up the stairs before I whispered 'I love you'.

I drove home. Time to deal with my mother. Perfect.
