"Ok, this forest is really starting to freak me out!" Trina complained, again.
"Seriously Trina. It's just trees, mud, grass, birds and...more trees." Laura laughed.
"Are you telling me none of you heard that?" Trina asked, but I noticed a bit of fear in her voice. Not the fear you have when you think you're going to miss the bus or you forgot something important, but real fear!
"Heard what?" I asked.
"Listen." Trina said, so we all stopped and listened in silence. After a while, I was about to give up when suddenly I heard it. It was the most unpleasant thing I'd ever heard. A screaming. It sounded like a man, a man being torn apart alive! We all heard it. Then we stared at each other for a minute listening to the screaming.
"OH MY GOD!!" Laura yelled, "Someone's being murdered!" she continued rambling on about a murderer, and that he'd probably come after us next. Predicting who would be first, saying it would be Ellie because she's clever and would figure out the way back so he'd have to kill her first. So we can't escape. Whilst she went on, I checked to see what Ellie and Trina were doing. Trina was talking to Laura at the same time she was talking to her, saying that it was probably an animal, like a lion or tiger! I let them continue jabbering and turned to Ellie, knowing she would probably start coming up with a reasonable explanation. But, no. She was screaming herself, running round like a headless chicken shouting,
"We're gunna die!! We're all gunna die!!" it was actually quite funny, I mean she's normally the really sensible, serious one. But right then, at that moment...she looked like someone out of a mental home!
"GUYS!!" I shouted, getting their attention, "Come on. I mean, can you hear yourselves? Murderers? Lions? Tigers? Dying? Isn't that all just a bit overrated? It's probably just kids mucking around." I say, feeling quite proud of myself.
"Yeah, she's right." Laura agreed.
"Duh, I knew that!" Ellie said.
"Yeah, we all looked pretty stupid. Except you Cassie, thank god you're here otherwise we probably all would've went mad!" Trina said, then we all just laughed.
"Let's get going." I said still giggling.

Finally the pain had stopped. My heart was racing and I could feel the sweat dripping of my back. All of a sudden I felt so much better, stronger. I pulled myself to my feet, swiftly, with no problem. I smiled to myself as I took a few steps forward. I could finally get out of the damn forest, without falling to the ground in pain. I then wondered where the weird woman had gone. She was there, then she...she...bit me! It was weird, quite painful. But that was just the start, she left me. Then the pain began, like a fire burning my soul. I screamed whenever I could, when I was conscious. I kept blacking out, hearing voices. My mind felt like it was going to explode. But then, I'd never felt more alive, more aware, more...hungry! I had to find some food, so I started wondering the woods. Looking for a way out or something to eat.
