I smiled as I approached the house of my next victim. I looked to see the window open. People are so stupid leaving their windows open at night. I thought as I went through the window. Nina was on the other street, killing people with their windows open. I love my girlfriend. I thought to myself as I went up the stairs. I went down the hall, listening for any sign of someone home. I heard rustling halfway down the hall and opened the door to see a teenage girl sleeping. I covered her mouth and she woke up. She looked at me and struggled. I whispered in her ear,
"Go to sleep."
After I was done with her I found her parents. After I was done with them I went out the way I came. I turned to go back in the woods but I saw a women run into a house down the road. I smiled and walked to the house she entered. I found an open window at the back of the house and went inside. I could hear her close a door upstairs and walked up the stairs quietly. I saw 3 doors up there. One was open to an office and the other I opened and was a bathroom. I smiled and opened the last door to find her in bed with the covers pulled over her head. I laughed softly and pulled the covers off her head. She opened her eyes and I whispered,
"Go to sleep."
She jumped up and pulled out a knife. I stepped back. No one has ever done that.
"You looked shocked Jeff," she said.
"Who the hell are you!" I shouted.
"You don't remember me? Well I guess I can't blame you, I did change a bit."
"Well, if you took off the mask it would help," I said playing along. She pulled off the mask and I gasped. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Her skin was as pale as mine and for eyes, where big black eyes. Her hair was long and black.
"You did this to me! This is all because of you and those silly little games you play! I'm a horrific creature just like you!"
"But your beautiful!" I protested.
She ran toward me, knife in a stabbing position. I dodged her and she tackled me to the ground.
"Don't know how you can run in those heals," I said. She started trying to stab my face. I dodged her and knocked her off me. Her knife grazed my forehead and I could feel blood stream out my forehead. I got up and she stood up as quick as me. I pulled out my knife and at the same time, we pointed the tip at each other's throats.
"Broken minds think alike," I said.
"Shut up!" She yelled.
"At least tell me your name before I slit your throat."
She laughed at that. I know it wasn't a real laugh, but it felt good to see her smile. Even if it was fake.
"Figured you'd remember by now."
"Remember what?"
"How you killed my family and I had to do this to myself! Struggling for money! My life ruined! I had to leave my little sister and let her live her life without me because she could never with a sister like me! You killed my parents and tried to kill my sister! Do you remember that Jeffrey Woods!"
"How do you know my full name!" I yelled.
"Oh, I know a lot about you. What about Liu? Remember him? Your beloved brother who took the blame for you just so you wouldn't get in trouble! How he when to juvenile court and was found guilty when really it was you? Remember that! As a thank you you left him barely alive!"
"Who the hell are you!"
"Jane! The girl you let live!"
"J-J-Jane?" I said shocked. "You look so different!"
"Hideous you're mean?"
"No. Beautiful!"
She blushed at that. She looked up at me and smiled. I felt my heart beating so fast. I dropped my knife and put it in my pocket. She lowered hers but kept it in her hand. I wanted to lean in and kiss her, but I didn't in case she stabbed me with that knife in her hand.
"Nina," Jane said.
"What?"
She pointed out her window. Nina was walking down the street. Jane put her mask on and put her knife back in her high topped boot.
"Thank you for the fight Jeff. Hope we can do it again sometime," Jane said and walked out the door. I ran into the hall to catch her, but she was gone.
