Chapter 1

y/n's pov

I waited outside in front of Shuichi's house, waiting for him to come out. What's taking him so long, we're gonna be late on our first day of Hope's Peak Academy! I was on my phone, looking at memes until I heard the door open. I got off my phone to see Shuichi smiling. "So-sorry I took so long y/n, my mom was nagging at me again." Shuichi sheepishly smiled. "It's fine, as long as we're not late for our first day." I said. "Yeah...that'll be embarrassing." He said as he started to walk off. I walked next to him and we were just talking until we made it to school. I checked my phone. "Nice, we got 15 minutes before school starts." I said with a small smile. Shuichi smiled as well. I hope we have the same classes this year. Last year, we had 3 classes together. I looked over at Shuichi and saw he has a blank face as usual. I wonder what he's thinking about.

Shuichi's pov

I wish I can hurry home and put on my Kyoko cosplay. It just came in yesterday and I wore it all day. Which is why my mom was nagging at me this morning. I wonder if I can ask y/n about Danganronpa. She likes anime so maybe she does. Ok, I just have to keep calm if she does like it. I tend to have my little...outburst whenever this topic is maintained. "Hey, y/n?" I asked. "Yes?" "Do you...know what Danganronpa is?" I asked. "Yeah. I watched to season 3 and then stopped." She replied. I felt a smile creep upon my face. I had to be really careful to make sure it wasn't too big of a smile or she'll be creeped out. "Who's your favorite character?" She was quiet. "Makoto. He helped them escape and have hope again!" She said happily with sparkles in her eyes.

Hope...huh...I never thought about hope in awhile

She has so much hope. I wonder what will happen when she's in despair? She'll probably look cuter than she already is! "Um...Shuichi? You're drooling..." y/n said, snapping me out of my thoughts. H-huh? I wiped my mouth. "Aha...sorry. I guess I zoned out badly." I said as I became embarrassed. I can't let y/n see that side of me! She'll hate me forever! "It's fine. It happens to everyone, doesn't it?" She mumbled the last part quietly. We walked over to get our schedule to see we have the same classes this year! "Yes! Shuichi we have all classes together!" y/n happily said as she hugged me. I hugged her back. This school year will be interesting...
