Sup. Sirius' POV still.
My head turned in a split second in the direction of the noise. My neck almost snapped. I don't know why I was so on edge. I knew who it was.
I rose from my spot below the tree, using the tree trunk as a crutch.
"Remus my old friend, what brings you here on this fine evening?" I smirked, trying to mask my pain. But he saw through the pretence.
Sliding down the bark of the tree, he gestured for me to join him. I did, and we sat in silence for a while before he pulled me in by my waist and gave me a long, lingering kiss. His icy lips never fail to give me chills in all the right ways. He pulled away, his hands cupping my face.
"What happened last night?" He whispered, glancing down in guilt. I reached for his hand, which were just as cold as his lips.
"You forgot to take it. I forgot to transform." I replied reluctantly as I attempted to keep my tone as even and my words as blunt as I could manage.
"How could I have been so careless? Especially around all these muggles - I'd be put to death by the Ministry! Did I do anything harmful?" His tone was so panicked;the beads of sweat that were once resting on his tired forehead were now running freely down his face, taking the usual detour on his multiple scars.
Not wanting to distress him further, I said simply, "Everything has been taken care of"
He took a breath to interrupt but I silenced him with a kiss. It wasn't as natural as last time, though. More tense.
He was the one to draw away. His eyes soon wandered down to my lower reigons, but I knew he wouldn't want anything to happen here. So why was he looking at the ground?
Then I realized. My leg. He'd seen it.
"Oh, Sirius..."
Our eyes locked. We both knew what this meant.
I'll write the next installment soon. Peace off.
