Chapter 17: Conflict in Heart

3rd Person POV

"Alright students. Todaym we are announcing that we are going camping tomorrow." Ms. Addams said. "Remember to get your parents to fill out the forms and pack appropriately."

"Yes ma'am!!" The class said. 

"Alright. Dismissed." Ms Addams said.

The whole class walked out talking to each other about the camping tomorrow.

Jocelyn POV

"Okay, I think Necard and whoever he is working with are going to make a move on us during this camping trip." I said to Myr.

She shrugged and said, "He could also not. But I mean, if they do. We should be prepared."

"That's just what I was about to say." I said. "Anyway, we have to be really careful during this trip. We don't want to be taken by surprise."

She nodded and said, "Don't worry. I'll be sure to be prepared."

"Hey Myr!" Nowead said coming up. "Oh, hey Jocelyn."

"Hi." We both said eerily at the same time.

"Okayyy...that's creepy. But anyway, Myr don't forget about our date later." He said smiling at Myr.

"Sure." She said smiling back.

I suddenly felt a pang in my heart looking at the scene.

"Wait a second. Are you two dating?" I said.

"Yeah." Myr said happily.

Nowead just looked at his feet shyly.

"Congratulations you two!" I said while high-fiving Myr.

I smiled but it somehow seemed a bit forced and a felt another pang in my heart.

"Anyway, remember to train." Nowead said. "We have to get stronger to be able to beat the rougarou and Necard."

"Will do." Myr said.

"Well, okay then. Bye. See you later." Nowead said walking away while waving at us.

"Bye." Myr said.

We started walking again and Myr kept talking to me about some new move she learned while I just responded a few times. 

Why am I like this? Do I.....like Myr? I thought.

Myr POV

Jocelyn seemed a little bit off today. I thought. She must be really worried about the upcoming confrontation.

My mom said, "Finished! How does it look?" 

I stared at the mirror and saw a beautiful girl looking at me.

"Mom. Where am I?" I asked searching for my face in the mirror.

"That's you." She said chuckling.

"What?! But I look so different! I look different even from that time Jocelyn did my makeup." I said examining myself. 

I look closer and I can see myself but I looked way more beautiful. 

"Well, I have quite a bit of experience in this field." My mom said smirking.

"Thanks Mom. This looks way better than anything I could do." I said still admiring my reflection.

I heard knocking on the door and Maxi immediately made a happy chirping sound.

"Guess Nowead's here." My mom said.

Maxi had been growing closer to Nowead ever since we started dating. She had now been able to sense when Nowead is near, something that she could previously only do for me and my mom.
