Claire stepped off the bus and looked around. She had never in a million years imagined that she would be a potential prospect for a motorcycle club. It was a first for them, having a woman as a prospect. Her waist length chestnut brown hair danced as the wind blew. Her sapphire eyes sparkled in the noon sun. Claire grabbed her black backpack and laptop bag as she started for the bus station's exit.
Claire waved down a taxi and was getting ready to leave when a pair of motorcycles pulled up behind the cab. "You Claire?" A tall and muscular guy with chin length blonde hair asked. She turned to him as he pulled his helmet off and walked towards her. "Depends on who is asking." She replied, her accent lightly Scottish. "Jax Teller." He said with a smile. Claire's eyes widened at his statement. "Yes, Mr. Teller. I am Claire Ashby." She said with a smile as she extended her hand.
Jax grinned at her in a way that made her flush. "Come on, darlin. We will take you to the clubhouse." He said as he extended his hand. Claire takes his hand and walks back to his bike. The man that came with him smiled in a way that made her feel as if he had seen her naked. His hair a bit long and slightly curly. She flashed a quick smile as he put her laptop bag over his shoulder. She swung her leg over and sat behind Jax on his bike.
She wrapped her arms around him tightly, but a bit nervous too. Claire tried to pull herself together as they rode to Charming. She hadn't had the chance to even see her house yet, but she was more excited about the prospect portion of her move than her new house. Claire took a deep breath and took in the sights as they slowed down inside the city limits of Charming.
Jax pulled into the parking lot at Teller-Morrow next to the clubhouse and parked his bike. Claire swung her long leg over the bike once more, her hands on Jax's shoulders. Her jeans were a tight fit and showed every curve of her body from the waist down. Her deep red halter top hugged her waist and made her chest look a bit bigger. Her foot twisted wrong as Jax got off his bike. With a swift movement Jax steadied her. Claire turned almost as red as her shirt. He smiled gently at her. "Don't worry about it. It happens to the best of us." Jax said with a smile as he looked down, finally realizing that he still had a hold of her hand.
The other gentleman cleared his throat and grinned innocently. "Tig, you got something you wanna say?" Jax asked as he looked over towards him and raised an eyebrow. "Only that we should head to chapel. Clay and the boys are waiting for us to bring in the new prospect potential." Tig said before looking down at her black biker boots. Jax sighed softly. Claire could feel the tension skyrocket at the mention of Clay. She wondered why but it was not her place to ask. It would be rude for one and she is a perfect stranger to Jax Teller.
Jax turned to Claire and gave her a smile. She smiled back at him determined not to let her nerves get the best of her. "Come on, let's get inside before Clay loses his head about all of this in general." Jax said with a sigh. "I can carry the bag for you, darlin if you like." Jax said extending his hand. Claire smiled and handed him the bag. The look on his face said he was shocked at how much it weighed. "Damn! What you got in that bag of yours?" He asked as he put his arm through the strap. "Books, a couple well hidden firearms and ammo. Mostly clothes and such. It's what I have been traveling with." Claire said with a stuffed giggle.
Jax smiled at her. "A well armed girl, I love it." He extended his hand. His hand was warm on hers. She could feel the callouses from all the working with his hands. Tig brought up the rear with her laptop bag. The three walked into the clubhouse and shuddered with the sweat turning cool from the air conditioner. Claire took in the entire clubhouse as they walked towards the chapel, where they held their club meetings.
Her heart pounded as Jax opened the door and let her enter the room. Every head turned to the door as she stepped inside the room. It made her a little nervous as she saw the looks on each of their faces. Jax stepped up beside her, Tig stood a little too close behind her. "Welcome to the chapel, Claire. Please take a seat." An older guy said from the end of the table furthest from her. Claire smiled and walked to the open chair behind the rest of the members seated at the table.
Her hips swayed naturally as she walked. With a smile she sat down and put one leg on top of the other. She became a little self conscious thinking her heels were a little out of place. She wore black heels with a bit of an open toe. Jax smiled and took his seat on the right side of the older man who had spoken to her. Tig took the seat on the side closest to the door; he sat between the older gentleman at the head of the table and another gentleman. His hair had started going grey, but the thing that caught her attention most was the pair of scars on his mouth. He had the same on each side of his mouth.
The older guy at the head of the table smiled. "So today we come together as a democracy, a family, a club to see if we will be making club history." He said as he looked around the room. "Today we decide if we are open and ready for a woman to join our ranks. She would be the very first woman to join any M.C." he said as he looked towards her and smiled gently. Claire smiled back at him. "First, if there are no objections I would like to do a quick introduction for Claire." The older guys said as he stood up and looked at each of the guys before him. No one said anything, they all nodded in agreement.
The older man remained standing. "My name is Clay Morrow. I am president of our little organization." He turned and looked at Tig, who was immediately to his right. Tig smiled and looked at her. "My name is Tig. I am the Sergeant at Arms here." He said with a smile, something about the look in his eyes and the smile made her uncomfortable. She didn't let it show though.
The guy who had started greying looked at her. He didn't stand up just to look at her. "My name is Chibs. I was a medic in the British Army and am able to do some things for the club." He said, his smile small but there. His accent is thickly Scottish. It made her smile all the more knowing there was another person from back home. The tall guy by the corner of the table gave her a big smile. "My name is Opie. I'm a demolitions expert. Welcome to the club." She smiled at each of the men that had introduced themselves.
She found herself look back at Chibs between each introduction. An older man turned and looked at her. "Hi, my name is Piney. I am one of the Redwood Original members. I have plenty of wisdom to share." He said with a big smile on his face. She returned his smile. The next man at the table on Piney's right didn't seem very thrilled about having to do this but he did it anyway. "My name is Happy and popping the clubs enemies is the name of the game." He said softly. His voice rather gravelly. The guy next to him smiled widely. "Juice. I'm an average member with my fingers in the plants of green." She smiled and giggled lightly. Claire knew exactly what he meant. The larger man looked at her. "My name is Bobby. I'm the treasurer of the club. Payments and dues come to and from me. Anything ya need just let me know." He said before turning to Jax. "Hey darlin. Jax Teller. V.P and a Redwood Original members. Most of us here are. My father was the one who created the club." He said with a smile.
Clay smiles at the group. "Now that we are all introduced here. Let's have a conversation about allowing a woman into the ranks of the club." He said looking over to Tig. "Alright Tig, what's your thought on this?" He asked as he readjusted in his chair. "Well, I have done some research on our potential prospect here. She meets the qualifications with the exception of her being a woman. I put her name forward and I think she will be a good addition to the club." He said with a grin before looking to Chibs. "Aye, she meets all the qualifications. I think it's about time we get with the times. There was once a time where two of our members here would not have been able to be members. Let's keep moving with the times." Chibs said looking up from the carved table and over to Opie.
Opie took a deep breath and looked at Claire. "I don't particularly see an issue with her being a member. I do think that we need to keep the boys in line. It could cause other problems down the line." Opie said rather honestly. Claire nodded. It was not something that she had given much thought on. "I rather agree with Chibs. It's time we get the club into the modern world. Women are law enforcement and in the armed forces. Why not have them here?" Piney said looking back to Claire. Happy turned and looked at her in the eyes. "Can you shoot?" He asked bluntly. "Yes. My father is a hunter and does the occasional skeet shooting. I've gone with him since I was old enough to handle a gun." Claire said honestly. "Can you hold your own in a brawl. Hand to hand?" He asked looking at her in a way to see if she might be lying. "I took two years of self defense. Outside of that I don't have too much experience." She said with a deep breath. "I think she would be a good addition. Maybe give her some hand to hand lessons for safety sake but I don't see and issue otherwise." Happy said looking at Clay.
Juice looked down at the table. "Due to my background, in the past I wouldn't have been allowed into the club. We have come along way as a club and I'd like to see us keep going forward. I agree that she will need some hand to hand training though. That aside I think she'll be great." Juice smiled and looked at her. Claire smiled. To her it sounded like she was going to be all in. Bobby sighed and looked her up and down. "I think she will do fine. I agree we need to keep the boys in line. Get her some training. But that'll come with being a prospect." Bobby stated as he crushed his cigarette into the ashtray. "I say all in. Bring in the new age. In the past I might have said no, but the boys make a good point. Training and some boundaries." Jax said looking back to Clay.
Clay stand up with a big smile on her face and s face. "Alright Claire. It looks like you are in as prospect. I'm gonna ask that you don't drive the guys too nuts now. If they are more worried about protecting you they may get their asses shot or worse." Clay said as he looked at her. She smiled. "I do not plan to drive them too crazy." Claire said as she adjusted her legs.
