Lilith's POV
Suddenly, the jet black wolf's ears shot and his expression darkened. He scanned the house expecting danger to be lurking around the corner. Sensing danger I took out my dagger from my boot I got from my foster father. It had a wooden hilt with a sharp blade with flames engraved on it. Blair looked around clueless not knowing what to do. But if being a feds daughter had taught her anything its what to do in situations like this. She stumbled over to one of the sofa and pulled out a silver gun from underneath.
From outside I could hear howls growing louder by the second indicating that they were getting closer. I strained my ears listening to paws hammering on the pavement. Perks of being part wolf. Damon growled ferociously and beckoned with his head to follow him as he lead us out. I told him take us to my house and he nodded. We walked as fast as we could without make much noise.
In a few minutes we got to my house.I threw open the doors and headed upstairs to the attic. There laid a few silver blade with a emeralds studded on the hilt. I snatched them from the floor careful not to burn myself. I rushed back down to see Damon standing guard deck in his human form.
'Lilith, were your parents hunters?'asked Damon.
'None of your business,' I snapped a bit harshly and turned to Blair , 'Hey, you alright? It's okay they won't come in here.'
'How?' she asked doubtfully rubbing her hand nervously. 'Because if they dare come closer they are going to die...' I said.
'Wolfsbane. Isn't it?' he cut in. 'Yes,and before you ask why I didn't tell you sooner it's because I don't care.' I wasn't going to start trusting him or any other wolf. 'I wasn't going to.' He walked away to check out the house. I grabbed a bottle of lemonade and throw it at Blair. I casually followed him to the attic and found him aggressively removing some of the old moth eaten sheet covering some vintage worn furniture.
'You don't have to pissed off at these poor old furniture!' I exclaimed as Damon continued to rip out the stuffing with his claws.
'How are you doing that? Your hands are have claws but the rest of you is still in human form.' I questioned Damon. I blew off dust from an old leather book and sat on a rotten wobbly rocking chair.
I skimmed through the yellowish pages searching for reasons why Damon was unaffected by the wolfsbane. After a moment I found a few pages about wolfsbane and similar stuff, I started reading it when Damon crept up on me.
'Do you mind? I'm trying to read valuable information you clearly don't want to tell me!'
'Tell me where you got this book from and I'll give you your 'valuable information' Deal?'
'My foster parents said it was tucked into my blanket when they found me at the doorstep, they told me about this book the day I turned 14.'
'How old were you when your foster family found you?'
'Why do you care? That's not part of our deal!'
'Alright! I was just asking! One last question then I'll leave you to yourself. Who even put you at the doorstep?'
'Nobody knows! My foster parents just heard me crying late at night and took me in.' I said. Just then Blair came in and asked if it was alright to leave. She said her mother was worrying. 'I told her I was at Angelina's'
'I'll take you home though I don't think they would still be out there.' offered Damon. Blair nodded. Damn it! 'I left my car at yours!' I gave her my car keys and told her to drive me to school tomorrow. She nodded again and left. I grabbed Damon's arm and whispered, 'You have to tell me tomorrow I'll wait for you in the library at school! And get her home safely.'
