Chapter 17: Cheating

•Keith's POV•

"He is reckless!" Bella leans over to Kat.

"And so are you, sometimes!" Kat yells at Bella, jogging to the ferry, leaving her in the dust. Now this my chance to make a move!

"Hey Keith." I hear a low voice beckon me. I turn around and see Tim stalking over to me, carrying his and Bella's stuff. Damn! It'll have to just wait for later...

"Uh, hey Tim." I roll my eyes as I greet him. "You want help with that?" I reach out for a lime green duffle bag when Tim suddenly protectively dodges my move.

"I can manage... Thanks though." Tim walks ahead of me and catches up with Bella. I can see them chatting as we all finally climb on to the ferry boat.

I look around for Kat, and accidentally bump into Bella.

"Oh my, I'm terribly sorry Keith!" Bella says backing up to give me some space.

"It's not your fault, I just wasn't looking at where I was going." I respond quickly, a small smile forms on my lips. I hold my hand out and ask, "Shall we go for a walk? Just to clear our minds, that is."

"Uh," Bella nervously looks around. "okay." She steadily walks towards me and takes my hand.

We start to walk to the front of the ferry, and have a light, nice chat. As we reach the very front of the boat, we both lean against the rusty railing and watch the sunset. I yawn and slowly place my arm around Bella's shoulders. Yeah I'll admit it: Bella was WAY hotter than Kat. I wasn't trying to cheat on her or anything, I just needed a break, that's all. It happens so slowly; Bella doesn't even notice that my arm is around her. But just as I was thinking that, I hear a yell in the distance. Oh shit, it's Tim. I was already too late. Bella yanks away from me and rushes over to Tim, grabbing to his arm for protection. I see his golden eyes staring at my back. I slowly turn around.

"Uh, hey Tim..." I say in a small voice. Bella whispers something in Tim's ear, the runs off.

"What were you doing with my girlfriend, you rich krat?" Tim spat, as he is suddenly right in my face.

"Uh, uh, wait, how'd you move so fast?!" I get off topic.

"Why the hell should I tell you?" I can feel Tim breath on my face. I automatically tense up, afraid of what might happen next.

•Tim's POV•

I blow a punch on his cheek, and blow another on in the stomach.

"Next time you wanna check out Bella, or even take her away from me, you're gonna have to go through me first." I sneered, slowly walking back to Kat's room.

When I reach for the door handle, I can hear silent sobs and cooing of care coming from the room. I release the door handle and quietly knock on the wooden door, then shoving my hands in my pockets.

"Come in." I can hear Bella's voice answer. I walk in and see Kat and Bella facing away from me, Bella rubbing Kat back, with Kat's head in her hands as she sobs more.

"I'm sorry, is this a bad time...?"

"N-n-no, it's ok. I'd like to have m-more company a-anyways." Kat responds, hyperventilating.

"I told I didn't trust him." Bella moans as she rubs Kat's back more.

"I-I-I should've listened to you, I'm so sorry! And here I thought Keith would be different than Jake..."

"Shh... It's all over now. Don't worry about it. So, you gonna break up with him?" Bella coos.

"Y-yeah."

"Good."
