Midnight Intruder

When Carmen decides to not go to the big New Years  party, after times up to decide to go, she changes her mind

"Are you sure you don't want to go, it'll be fun!" The way Macy, Carmen's best friend chants the word "fun" over the phone is enough to make anybody change they're minds, except Carmen.

"Yes, Macy, I have to study for my math test tomorrow in Mr.Baley's class. I'm failing," Carmen talks into her new basic flip phone while laying on her brown and purple bed.

"Sadie's going to be there, you haven't seen her in a whole year! Remember!" Macy wouldn't give up persuading Carmen even if it meant bringing up Sadie, the girl who used to be Carmen and Macy's best friend until she left to live with her auntie and uncle until new years.

"how are you so sure she'll be at Drake's party?" Drake was a guy who went to they're school and always threw the best party's.

"And besides, I don't know why he's throwing a New Years party on the nineth of December!" Carmen just felt like laying on the couch eating ice cream and watching horror movies.

"Because he's leaving on the tenth to go to New York City until after New Years! And what's the fun of a New Years party after New Years!" Macy has talking hurriedly which meant she was getting ready to go somewhere, the party.

"Well what's the fun of a New Years party BEFORE New Years!"

"Well I have to go to the party now, only chance of my dad driving me is now so, I'll see you there hopefully, or not, bye,"

"Bye" is all Carmen could think of saying to respond

Carmen put her phone on her bed beside where she was sitting and got up to say bye to her parents as they left to the restaurant on they're night off.

Carmen steps one by one down the the wooden stairs to the living room.

"Honey, are you still going to go to that party? We can drive you now if you'd like," Carmen's mom greets her at the doorway

" I'm fine mom I'll just hang out here," Carmen says her good byes to her parents then gets a comfy seat on the red leather couch in the living room

BANG

BANG

Carmen hears a set of knocks, or, bangs, at the front door where her parents just left.

" Mom, Dad, did you forget the keys? I'll unlock the door for you!" Carmen gets up from her comfy place on the couch and decides to look out the window beside the door first.

When she does, she sees that her dads car isn't there in the front.

"What the-"

" They probably took moms van, since its better on gas. It's OK, stop thinking like its not mom and dad at the door" Carmen's thoughts go wild as she says them out loud

"Wait a minute,,, there's no car out there, then, then-" she takes a step back.

"That's not mom and dad knocking..." Carmen runs into the bathroom and locks the door, hiding in the shower pulling the curtains closing the entrance into the shower.

"Come on honey, open up!" Carmen hears a voice just like her mothers yell at the door, but she knew it wasn't her mother.

"Go away! Leave me alone!" Carmen knew she should of

Been quiet and waited until the person at the door left, but fright took over, and who knew how long the man or woman would wait.

" Honey, its OK! Its me, mom! We just forgot the keys! Unlock the door and let me in and I'll get what I need and be on my way!" The voice echoed through the house from the outside.

" where's dad then!" Carmen was twelve and had a lot of courage.

"He's in the car!" The voice got a little more manlier ever sentence.

"There is no car! Now stop lying and tell me who you are and leave me alone for gods sake or I'll get a knife and call the cops!" Carmen was now all tense and ready to take action.

She hears the down get kicked down and footsteps making there way to the bathroom. The bathroom door creaks open and the curtains get yanked over by the intruder.

"Sadie?" Carmen .

up in the bathtub scared as you ever can be.

"Stop telling every body I went to live with my uncle and auntie because you know damn right  you killed me because I was getting too popular,"
