Saddest Proposal

Natsu's POV

It's been 3 months since we killed Fabian. I was unconscious for 2 weeks but Lucy has been in a coma ever since. I have been waiting for her to wake up ever since. Her injuries were far worse than mine since she used up all her magic with the last blow. Wendy said her conditions were getting better, then they started getting worse a month ago.

Today was the day that I'm going to the jewelry store to get Lucy an engagement ring. I'm having Levy come with me to pick it out. I'm going to the store where I bought Lucy's dragon necklace.

We enter the store, the same man as before greets us," oh so is this the girlfriend?" he asks, making thing awkward.

"No, she's just helping me," I replied. I wonder how Lucy is doing right now? "I'm looking for an engagement ring."

The mans eyes sparkled," your thinking about proposing, right this way." we walked over to the casing with all the rings, God there was so many. "Pick anyone you think the lucky lady will like," he motioned to all the rings.

I look around the casing, there is rings with all different designs. Then it caught my eye, the perfect ring for Lucy. It had a big diamond in the center with little pink ones circling it. "Levy, do you think Lucy will like it," I pointed to the ring.

Her eyes widened and sparkled," Oh my god, she will love it."

I gave a toothy grin," I will take that one." The man smiled," excellent choice, would you like to engrave the inside of the ring?"

I thought about it," yes, put 'my dragon princess'." The man smiled, he gave it back to me. I paid a hell of a lot for it, but its for Lucy so I really didn't mind.

Levy and I went back to the guild, we got there and I immediately went straight for the infirmary. When I got there Wendy looked like she had been crying, master and Wendy walked over to me."Whats going on," I questioned with suspicion.

"Natsu," was all Wendy could say before bursting to tears. I looked at master worriedly.

"Natsu," he began," Lucys condition has became critical, I don't think she will make it until next week."

My heart felt like it was being ripped out of my chest," she's dying." That's all I was able to get out.

"I will give you a moment," master said. Wendy and master left the room. It was just me and Lucy. 

I walked ovre to her bedside, I began to get teary eyed." You were so strong, that's what made me fall in love with you. From the first moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one," tears began streaming down my face." The last battle we faced was not supposed to be our last, there was still so much i wanted to do with you. 

Lucy, I love you. I wanted us to grow old together, maybe have a few kids. My life completely changed when you came into it. I'm grateful that you did," I pulled out the ring, still sobbing."I'm grateful I was able to call you my best friend, my girlfriend, my lover, but the one thing that was missing was my wife." I slipped the ring on her finger, fully aware she wasn't going to wake up. "Lucy, no one has ever made me feel the way you make me feel, ever! Lucy will you marry me." 

I got up, kissed her on the for head, I busted into tears, Lucy would be gone from me forever and I let it happen. I went to the exit, I punched the wall, causing a big hole in it. I wanted to see Lucy's face one more time before I really said goodbye. I wiped away my tears and turned around.

My mouth flew open, Lucy was standing right behind me, tears were falling down her face. It was like seeing an angel for the first time. She walked over to me looking me dead in the eye," yes I will marry you!"

Fabian's Noblemans POV

(time laps back after Natsu and the others went back to the guild for Lucy)

I walked into the castle. Seeing the destruction those members of Fairy Tail caused. I walked up to where master had fought Natsu and Princess Lucy. He laid there motionless, he was dead. I walked over to him, putting my hand on his body," you had a good run my king to bad it didn't last very long." 

I started walking away, but i had a strange feeling to go back to King Fabian. I walked over to his body, suddenly he took a gasp of air.
