Arrival

In an old rundown apartment a boy was pacing back and forth, he was looking down at the floor seeming to wait for something, creaking of the wooden floor boards could be heard with every step he made.

The boy had raven black hair and, crimson red eyes, he was average in height being about 5'8, and he was thin but lean.

The raven haired boy kept waiting as if expecting it to arrive that moment.....he was waiting for a letter of approval from the school he had applied for, he had waited 2 weeks for the letter, he was excited to get in, but at the same time he was getting tired of waiting, he sat down and let out a small sigh, he was ready to give up, the only thing that kept him from doing so was his parents.

The thought of his parents made his mood drop, his excitement turned to grief, his parents had both died when he was only thirteen years old, the cause of death was unknown it was so mysterious that the police had told everyone that had witnessed it to never speak of it again, but before they died they had already left him a memento, an entrance exam form and a letter stating

'Dear Julian

At the time you read this letter then me and your father have passed away, but we have left something for you, with this letter there will be a form, a form in which you must fill up and do your best to get in, we know you can do it son we may not be there to help you, but do not worry son, you will not fight this battle alone, you will meet friends that will be with you through all your times of need.

Love, Mom and Dad'

He had read the letter repeatedly and would always cry after, he let out a few tears and sniffs before hearing a knock on the door,he got up and wiped a few tears away then headed to the door, he opened it and found nobody there, he looked downward and found an envelope with a seal on it, this was what he had waited for, he looked to check the halls one more time and went inside to read the letter.

He opened the envelope and inside was a neatly folded piece of paper, he took a deep breathe and removed the paper from the envelope but it suddenly moved and unfolded itself, because of the sudden shock Julian jumped backwards and hid under the table, the piece of paper floated and started speaking

"Kris Julian Mercer..... Congratulations on passing the entrance exam....we will be expecting you soon at Bright Dusk Academy.....follow the instructions that will be written on this piece of paper as these will your map and guide.....also be sure to keep this piece of paper with you along with the envelope.....for the seal will show you the way." the female voice stated unenthusiastically.

Julian's POV

".....For the seal will show you the way." I said to myself still in shock, the piece of paper moved on its own as if it was made of magic.....

"Maybe I'm just hallucinating, what if this is all a dream, or a terrible nightmare...." I kept talking to myself as if I were delusional, I took in as much courage as I could get and headed towards the letter and grabbed it, I viewed
what was inscribed on it.... it was a map...maybe it wasn't a dream...

On the map was a path leading to a tree and it was....in the park? It was wierd but who am I to complain? I was talking to myself about a talking piece of paper, I packed my things, clothes, a bit of food and drinks for the trip, a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste, some necessities, and a small box my mom gave me when I was eight years old.

"Did I forget anything?..." I asked myself trying to remember what I could've forgotten, I remembered I needed to bring the letter so I grabbed it and put it in the envelope and tucked it inside of my pocket.
