The results were right at the table. We all waited anxiously. Four of the remaining 25 were directly sent out. The fifth person got recruited. I couldn't believe the pervert who was behaving weird had gotten selected too. One by one, they selected each person until there were only two remaining. Me and a girl.

"Well it was a hard choice to make between the two of you. Miss Asteria Grace, you're selected." and my joy knew no bounds. However I felt sorry towards the girl besides me and I looked at her and noticed that she was glaring right at me as if she could kill me right then and take my place instead.

I didn't know what to do. She was eventually asked to leave so she went out. But she didn't avert her eyes away from me for a second.

"So, the six of you... ," the person who had addressed the speech first called. I was taking a wild guess if he was our manager, which he was.

"Mr. George Brown and Mr. Noah Smith, you will be taking charge of noting down the orders from our guests." they nodded in acceptance.

"Ms Hannah Wilson, Ms Asteria Grace and Ms Daliya Davies, you have been assigned to our room service staffs."

"And Mr. Ethan Wood ..."

So his name is Ethan. Pervert!

"...and Miss Asteria Grace, you have been assigned as our chefs."

What!

All heads snap to me. I looked at the cheeky smiling pervert who was maliciously mocking me with his twitched lips that I so badly wanted to punch him right in the face.

Am I hearing things? I have been assigned to two places?!

"Oh and Miss Asteria, don't panic."

As if. Huh.

"I don't know what else you know about cooking, but the coffee you brewed was the best I ever had. So I hope for our guests to have the same coffee too. That's what got you here so just do the coffee thing when you're asked else you can do the room servicing when you're not at it."

I didn't know how to react to be true. I was.. Overwhelmed? Stunned? I knew I was good at making coffee but the compliment he had given was on a whole new level. And I was unable to digest it.

A coffee got me into working at a luxury hotel?

Duh. I think. I am watching a Disney movie.

I nodded frantically. Our manager informed us that we could leave for today. He also said that we would be given a tour of the place the following day and then could start our work. After saying that, he left the place and I heaved a sigh of relief as the tension around reduced.

"You," the girl called Hannah snapped her finger at me. Her face was furious. I was wondering what did I do to get her in such a fit.

"Because of you, my sister couldn't get this job. Had she gotten it for her summer breaks, she would have been able to buy the items she was so long waiting to get."

"Um... I'm sorry if she couldn't. But that's not my fault right? I wasn't assigned to selecting people nor do I have contacts here." I retorted. I wasn't a person to cause a fuss, but I wasn't among ones to stand idly when others were ranting bad things about me.

"Oh you don't even look like you can afford contacts. And yes it's totally your fault. Just because you brew a coffee you think you can secure your position at a place like this. I'll show you what it takes."

"Did my coffee make you that insecure?,"I said calmly with a smile.

"I'm sorry that your sister couldn't get work here but you need to get over it and stop reacting as if I fired her from this job." She gritted her teeth and said nothing. I took it as a que to leave the conversation, and that I had given her a piece of my shit to deal with so it was over.
