"You're so lucky, Saphyra!" Darcy whined. "You get to go to school for demons and I'm stuck here." Darcy blew a brown curl out of her coffee coloured face, frustrated. Saphyra shook her head. "It is going to suck." She said firmly. "How am I going fit in with immortal creatures with magic?" She angrily tied her curly black hair with the red and black ribbon he had given her. Her blue eyes flashed with irritation as she adjusted her blue hoodie and jeans and packed her bag. "The only good thing is I won't be stuck with aunt Margaret. I'll be free for a while."
Saphyra was lucky that her aunt wasn't there. That, and the fact that she got to be in her room for now. Otherwise, she would've been forced to pack her stuff in the attic. And beaten black and blue for that statement. Or casually mocked, threatened, or have heard a long speech of her aunt going on about how she was so kind to take care of her after her mother died, yadaa, yadaa, ya.
Aunt Margret was in Greece as of now, so she couldn't stop Saphyra from going to the Royal Academy of Diavolo. Thank God. Or thank the demons?
"Oh, come on, how bad can it be?" Darcy threw her arms out in a shrug. "You'll be looked after. There's no way they'd let a human be hurt. Especially an exchange student. It'll look bad on them. They want their reputation to be safe, right?" She reasoned. "And being away from your aunt is enough reason for you to be happy about this." Darcy pointed out.
"I guess that's true." Saphyra admitted. She stuffed the Sailor Moon manga in her bag. Her suitcase was already full. "How many mangas are gonna take?" Darcy's green eyes widened. "As many as I need to survive for a year." Saphyra said simply. "I'm not going to find a weeb who'll lend me theirs, after all."
She zipped her bag shut and slung it across her chest. Grabbing her suitcase, she headed towards the door. "I'm ready." Darcy smiled, hugging her from behind. "Enjoy your stay. And don't forget to call and text!" Saphyra smiled, hugging back the best she could. "I won't forget." She went out the door, waving Darcy goodbye.
She walked to her school, wondering what kind of place R.A.D. would be. She most certainly was surprised she was selected to be sent there. True, she had top grades, but no one except for Darcy knew she existed. The only reason people took notice of her was because of this exchange.
She went to the backyard of her school, as she had been instructed to. Someone would probably come to pick her up.
She sighed. "I'm not going to breathing this air for a year now. Or being treated like shit back home. Yippee!" She found herself smiling. "I don't think I'll be needing my sanctuary for a while now."
Lost in her happy thoughts, she suddenly fell.
What. The hell?
