First period was exactly how I expected it to go. Kids staring at me, wondering why they had never seen me before, girls giving me a dirty look when I walked in with Jace. Typical.
At lunch I found Ali and Jace in a table by the corner, and I went over. "Hey," they said in unision.
"Helloooo." I greeted. We talked about the teachers we have, classes, and who's in them. I found out Jace and Ali are both single, and that Ali has a huge crush on Jace's friend. Me and Ali sat together in the classes we had together, and in sixth period Jace saved me a seat. "So Lani." He said.
"So Jace." I shot back. "Why'd you move here? I mean, out of everywhere in the world. Why here?" He asked me.
"Umm.." I replied, "personal reasons I guess."
"Cmon, you can't tell me?" he made puppy dog eyes.
"Nope. I just don't think I can trust you yet. Honestly. I moved here so that I could put everything behind me. Start fresh. Not have everyone feel sorry for me. Jace, i'm sorry. But i'm not telling you. Not yet." After I said this, I realized I shouldn't have. I had probably said too much. Plus it sounded cheesy.
And that was the moment Jace looked at me. I mean really looked at me. And im not sure if he felt it too, but we locked eyes a second too long.
That was the moment I realized I loved Jace.
