So this story is probably gonna keep switching between 3rd person and your P.O.V so hopefully it's not too confusing
~
Waking up on a Monday was an extremely difficult job for Y/N. She was definitely not a morning person and it really showed when she had to drag herself around the house in order to get ready. Her family only caught a glimpse of her when she would shuffle into the bathroom for an hour. Once her mum claimed that she saw her eating cereal at the counter but she thought it was her mind playing tricks on her and no one else in the house believed her.
After a few major adjustments and a shit tonne of mascara, she looked decent enough to be seen by human eyes;strolling out the door with a few minutes to spare.
Y/N wasn't a popular girl (whatever that meant), she wasn't at the bottom of the food chain either. She was just in the middle, she had her three friends who were just like her and not constantly pressuring her like most other friendships in high school and she was content with that.
Most other people considered her group to be the 'Emo's', which meant leather jackets, slightly punk, possibly carrying a knife around their person and possibly a fan of the recreational drugs.
None of this was true of course, but you had fun playing along with it because it meant everyone left you all alone, most younger kids were scared of you and no 'popular' kids dared comment with the fear you'd 'jump them' or some weird shit. The truth was you were kind of aggressive but that was only because you lived in a house with boys everywhere, hence your style and boyish traits. You were a very sarcastic person however and it was most likely you're biggest feature/flaw and the thing that annoyed your friends most. You couldn't help it though, it was just in your nature.
The school day was slow as usual, nothing outlandish happening to spike your interest. You made your way to History with your friend Claire, the girl in your group most like you with similar hair and height and style. You noticed as small children moved out of your way without prompt, parting like the Red Sea. Being scared of had its perks. When you arrived at the classroom you took your seat in the usual place, unpacking and singing the tune to one of your favourite songs quietly.
" THERES A STARMAN!" Someone behind you shouted, finishing your lyric. You immediately knew the voice as Johnny and he only confirmed this when he collapsed into his seat next to you and continuing to sing to you;this time more quietly and privately, making cheesy faces while he did so. You only sighed extremely loudly and roughly which only made him start with the hand gestures.
You always enjoyed your history lessons with Johnny, you didn't let him know that but you enjoyed pretending you hated him. You had this thing going where you always acted as rude and as sarcastic as you could, insulting him throughout the lesson and Johnny would try and try to make you smile or laugh to prove that you weren't actually a "cold-hearted villain" as he described and inside you were a "cinnamon bun" at heart. This made you laugh,on the inside of course because you'd never let him win. Only rolling your eyes in response to his questions or scoffing. You see Johnny was one of those 'popular' students, but he was the only one brave enough to talk to you even befriend you. You admired him for that and his independence which was the only reason why you bothered humouring him in lesson.
Once he had finished his little ballad. You looked at him and only asked "Finished ?" "How are we today princess ?" He asked, ignoring your sass. "I'm great." You reply bitterly. "And princess really, I thought I told you to stop calling me that." You seethed. "I couldn't possibly stop my love, you see you just ARE my princess. I can't help that." You just sighed in response, trying to bite back a smile. " You look beautiful today,Princess. The leather... very aggressive. It gives off a sense of Touch me and I bite your fingers off. It's really working for you." He added in a camp way. You just stared at him with a look of disappointment. " I see you're wearing the same jacket as usual. What's wrong, mummy not had another customer in a while?" You dig, with a fake pout. He smirked at your usual behaviour and replied in character "No, sadly your dad has been quite busy this week." "Ha ha." Rolling your eyes. "And anyway what's wrong with this jacket, I think it's very chic." He said in sad tone. You looked at your favourite jacket and simply admitted with a tired expression and tone "Yes Johnny. It's very chic." His smile returned and he continued his work. "So princess, attend any metal concerts recently?" "You know I don't like concerts... Or metal." "Yeah, yeah. Just asking." "What about you, attend any spice girl conventions?" He chuckled, a sound you'd grown to like very much.
The rest of the lesson went past, you and Johnny talking the whole way through until the bell went. Johnny stood up, bowing before you graciously. "Until next time, fair princess." You stared at him with venom waiting until he was out the class when you let your smile shine through. Over the year you had developed a little crush on the class clown but you were smart enough not to let it slip. You left the classroom to find Claire waiting for you outside the door and a disappointed look on her face. " I though you said all boys were jerks." "I did." You said timidly. "Well by the looks of it, maybe you're type is jerk?" She questioned with raised eyebrows. "Oh come on !" You said in desperation. "I don't like him. He's too ..." Unable to finish. "Cute, funny, charming, completely smitten with you." "Oh shut up." You said, walking to the rest of the girls hoping Claire wouldn't bring it up again.
