AN: I wrote this when I was struggling on my finals (yeah, I was insane). I just wanted to share it. So don't expect anything. But if you think this story is cool, then you're awesome. Hope you enjoy :)

Chapter one: Gregory Willson
Everyone heard the bell rung. As soon as the professor left the room, I grabbed my bag and immediately headed to the hallway. My phone chirped for the second time and I grabbed it from my pocket. It was a text from Jane, my employer.
are your classes done? Kind of busy here, are you able to come early?
I texted back. Just done. I'll be right there.
I shoved it back to my pocket and walked down to the parking lot. I heard my name being called across the open field. Amanda was just running towards me with her arms waving across as if to call my attention.
"What the hell are you doing?" she asked. Her chest was heaving.
"Um, I'm going to work? What does it look like?"
"But you're going to the party tonight, right?"
"The party, right." I remembered, nodding.
She made a face then crossed her arms at me. "Don't tell me you forgot?"
I sighed. "No. That's not the case." I said. "I'm working late tonight. Jane's asking for overtime. The shop's full tonight."
"What? How come? Greg, you told me you'd come with us later. You promised."
"I know. I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you guys sometime." I opened my car and sat down inside. I looked at Amanda. She looked like she wanted to say something more so I rolled down my window.
"You know what? The party won't even end till the morning, so nonetheless, you'll attend at any cost. I'll see you there." She took off before I could say anything else.
Amanda wasn't my problem-the party was. I didn't want to attend any silly gatherings, but all freshmen students were obliged to attend. Apparently it'll be hosted by the upperclassmen at the fraternity house. Everyone would just be wasted anyway so I don't really see the point. I'd rather stay at my apartment because I had to do a paper, which was due next week.
I drove to the café as soon as I could. Jane was just at the counter busy picking up customers. I grabbed my apron and tied it around my neck.
"Glad you could come early. I'm sorry about this early shift," Jane said beside me.
I smiled politely. "No big deal. It's a favor."
She continued taking order for the customers and I went back to the kitchen to grab more pastries to refill the front. More customers were rushing to the café. They were either trying to have their late lunch or early dinner but either way, the staffs were unfortunately low today.
"I'll take over the counter Jane, take a break," I told her.
She sidestepped and let me took over. She was rubbing her neck. "Thanks. I needed that."
My shift ended at ten. I was covering for another employee who was on leave today, so things were just unbelievably busy. After cleaning up and helping Jane close the café, she told me I could go home.
Within the rest of the night, I ended up going home after, took a shower, ate leftovers Jane gave me, and finished at least half of my essay that I was supposed to pass next week. I stretched my body on the office chair and yawned. I didn't want to move or do anything else after this. Maybe weekends like this were my ideal. It was just relaxing.
