Y/N didn't bother paying attention to the conversation her manager was trying to keep over the phone. She kept it on the seat next to her, instead watching some random Netflix show on her laptop while she occasionally hummed in response, trying to keep up the appearance that she was actually listening. Austin kept trying to lecture her over the phone, but seemingly wasn't even aware that Y/N wasn't listening.

Of course, deep down Y/N knew that her long-time friend and manager could easily check if she was listening if they wanted to, but she knew her American friend tried to keep Quirk usage to a minimum around her. Something about worrying that it was a touchy subject for Y/N.

She glanced over to her phone, seeing that the call had been hung up long enough for the phone screen to go dark. When she turned it back on, she realized that she had been humming to herself for a little over an hour.

Oh well, she told herself. They'll just text me a ten paragraph lecture later.

She glanced up as she heard the pilot's cabin door open, and saw the co-pilot standing there.

"Miss L/N, we're about ten minutes from where we'll be landing," he informed her.

"Of course," she said politely. "Thank you, Romeo."

The man nodded slightly as a silent 'you're welcome' to her before closing the door again.

"Oh well," she sighed, standing up and stretching. "Flying in a private jet is great, but I guess it can't last forever." She grabbed her glass of champagne and quickly finished it. Her aunts had been kind enough loan her not only one of their private jets, but also their private estate deep in the woods near Kamino.

She walked over to the closest window that wasn't blocked by a seat or couch and looked down. She was used to flying, but she somehow never got used to how small everything looked when she was high up in the air. Even though they were over a large expanse of empty land, she would still see the occasional house, and she managed to see two small figures below her, which looked to be a small child and their dog.

She spotted a log cabin in the distance, covered mostly by the surrounding woods. But there was enough of an opening in front of it to provide a safe place for the jet to land. It was her aunts, after all, they were so extra that they would never go to an airport. Of course they'd make a makeshift runway for their jets in the middle of the woods.

As she sat back down in her seat, she took another glance at her phone.

Eight messages? Already? She chuckled to herself, picking up her phone and opening it. Only two of them were from her aunts.

"I love you, Y/N, enjoy your vacation. You deserve one!!" she mumbled to herself, reading the texts with a smile.

'Safia wants you to know she loves you too and encourages you to make friends while there. Heaven knows you need them.'

She was just about to reply when the plane stopped suddenly, and she just about flew off of her seat. She quickly regained her composure and stood up, gathering the things she had aimlessly left around the jet, and she picked everything up and stuffed it in her purse just before the pilot could come out and see the mess she had made of his jet.

He nodded to her and went over to grab her luggage, which she thanked him for, before she left the jet and entered her home for the next couple weeks. The fireplace was already lit, and the entire place looked exactly as she remembered it looking when she was young. There was still the rather large, open-concept layout of the kitchen and living and dining rooms, with the two bedrooms branched off of a hallway connected to the kitchen. She turned to the left, where the round library was, and directed the pilot and co-pilot to just leave her luggage in the foyer.

After thanking them, they both left, and Y/N was left to her own devices, which mainly included unpacking for her stay and then possibly taking a nap on the couch in front of the fireplace. Perhaps she'd watch a movie or something while she fell asleep. That sounded nice.

She started into the library. It was a round room, which she thought many would find odd, but she found fitting of her aunts, and she took a moment to breathe in the scent of the place. It was still the same, even though she hadn't visited since she was young. Vanilla with asight hint of nutmeg and cinnamon, which grew to be one of her favorite scents.

She began walking up the stairs to where her old bedroom was. The library was already about two stories tall, with a catwalk about a story high, but she kept going to the second flight of stairs, and climbed those until she reached the attic door. She entered, and was immediately overwhelmed with a rush of nostalgia.

She walked over to the large bay window, remembering how she would sit down and read a stack of books in one sitting while it rained, and falling asleep with a half-finished book laying on her chest. Oftentimes one of her aunts would come up to tuck her in for bed and find her sitting on the window seat in a bad position, and she would wake up in her bed before getting lightly scolded for falling asleep sitting up once she saw her aunts again.

She loved staying up there, even though its original purpose was as an attic. She always said she felt like a princess in her tower when she would stay up there, and eventually her aunts caved and had the room remodeled to be fit for a child to live in.

"Oh, Tedward," she cooed, walking over to her old stuffed bear. He was looking a little worn down, with an ear torn off and one of the straps on his white overalls having snapped. The heart on the picket of his overalls was beginning to fade, and his pink fur was almost white, and nowhere near as soft as she remembered it being. "We need to get you fixed up."

"And Prince Huggs! I didn't think I left you here," she said, chuckling to herself as she picked up the stuffed, purple bipedal hippo. He also wore a pair of overalls, but his were blue, and he had a crown on his head, which was falling over from old age. She placed him against her old heart-shaped pillow before picking up Tedward and putting him next to the hippo.

She carefully pushed Huggs back into place when he fell over, leaning him on Tedward for support. Tedward's nickname was Teddy, and Y/N had announced his full name at the same time she announced his love for Prince Huggs. Her reasoning was that everyone knew Teddy was short for Tedward, like how Eddy was short for Edward.

She walked around her room, straightening more stuffed animals as she went, and noticed a piece of paper as she was placing books back where they went. She grabbed it, careful not to tear it, and pulled it from between the two books, tearing up when she saw what was on it.

It was a picture of her and her parents. She was just born when the picture had been taken, but seeing her mother tearing up in happiness holding baby Y/N made her feel terrible that her parents hadn't lived long enough to see what had become of her.

Her eyes trailed to her mother's figure, and then to the bright white wings folded on her back. That was only a part of her Quirk, Griffin. So were the feathers mixed in with her bright white hair.

Y/N was confusing for a lot of people. She didn't have a quirk like either of her parents did. Her mother had the Quirk she called Griffin, and her father had Wind Manipulation. She had neither of those.

No, instead, she got a Quirk she could barely even describe. It was often seen as a monstrous Quirk, and she had to constantly take Quirk suppressants to keep it from destroying her from the inside out.

She took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure, and placed the picture facedown on the top of the bookshelf she found it tucked in.

"I should get back downstairs and get myself situated," she said, glancing around the room once again before leaving.
