Hermione couldn't stop thinking about the kiss that almost happened. How foolish she was to be always captivated by Sam's charms even when the latter hasn't done anything. And how more foolish she was to believe that Sam and Rose are nothing more than friends.

I believe what I see, Hermione thought. And I saw Sam and Rose together.

Hermione rolled and rolled over on her bed. She couldn't get herself to sleep that night, thinking and worrying about Sam. Before she got into bed an hour ago, Hermione checked the calendar and confirmed that the next full moon would be by next Monday.

What are they planning? Why didn't Sam accept the liquid luck? What could be the sudden change in their plans? They're running out of time. Oh, Sam.

Hermione didn't get to see Samantha the entire day even during dinner. She wondered if Sam was avoiding her again now that she knows she's been following her.

Hermione visited the castle grounds twice now, hoping she'd see her there. But no presence of Sam or even her friends. What are they up to?

Hermione was so frustrated as she went to study in the library that Friday evening after dinner. She kept on looking out the doorway, hoping Sam would mysteriously appear.

But everything has changed now. Fine. I'm no longer part of Sam's life. That's totally fine.

Hermione's face turned glumly as Cormac entered with a beam on his face. He nonchalantly took a seat beside her.

"Are you and Sam getting back together?" Cormac suddenly asked, opening his book with a force.

Hermione scoffed and went on reading, ignoring his question. She shouldn't be bothered by Cormac anymore and his stupid presence but he was just so annoying.

"I'd take your silence as a no, then," Cormac said, chuckling. "She's nothing but a bad influence to you, Mione."

"What do you want, Cormac?" Hermione asked exasperatedly.

Cormac smiled as he looked at her. "Why do you assume I have something to ask from you?"

"Why do you keep on bothering me? Why are you here?" Hermione's eyes glared back.

Cormac laughed. "Fine. It's like you can read my mind. Er, I would like to invite you to our pre-graduation dance. It will be held at a prestigious hotel in London... tomorrow evening."

"What?" Did he hit his head on the way here?

"Yeah, you don't have to worry. I have a dress prepared for you. You'll look lovely in it. And it matches mine as well. If you're still worried, each of us will have our own separate room-"

Hermione interrupted him. "What makes you think I'd say yes to you?"

"I don't know. A lot of schools abroad will be there as well, you know. And a lot of well known speakers. You can get an insight from them. I think you really want to be there."

Hermione forced a laugh. "Get over yourself, Cormac."

"So?"

Hermione looked at him incredulously. "So, no."

"I think you'll reconsider," Cormac said, chuckling like crazy.

"What makes you think of that?"

Cormac smirked. "Because Samantha's also going with someone."

What? Sam? How? Why? Hermione's mind clouded for a bit, thinking if Sam had already solved their problem with Hamish and had taken a breather. And why would she go to a party? And with whom?
