"Adults are just outdated children."
Noah left the next day with aunt Carol and my mom.
She was suddenly excited at the prospect of seeing her granddaughter. Uncle Tom still seemed as though he hadn't excepted the reality of the situation. He was a soft man, a huge contrast to his sister, that is, my mother.
He stared into nothingness most of the time as he sipped on a Hennessey while my father ranted for the both of them.
I think my father was more stressed out about the fact that mom was gone for a little over a week and he didn't have the slightest clue of how to take care of two teenage boys without a helping hand.
I had already asked prior to go to 'go volunteer at a summer camp' before the incident, so I didn't have to deal with Tyrell and Tyrone.
The twins were indifferent about the pregnancy issue. However, they were ecstatic about being home alone for most of the time.
"You'll have to move in with me Tom, right? You have shorter working hours than me and you can help me out with the twins."
"Alright bro," he answered, not quite yet out of his trance.
Despite his docile state, I could still see the disappointment etched on his face.
I couldn't help but marvel how two people's mistake could affect many.
But what I knew was, after the baby was born, she would no longer be a mistake. She would be welcomed into the family as a Mandla-Miller.
That, I was certain.

Graduation sucked.
First, mom wasn't even there to ululate and embarrass me.
Second, Noah wasn't there to do the 'woah' dance after he received his certificate. He had to graduate in absentia.
Thirdly, Uncle Tom looked like he was attending a funeral rather than my graduation.
Sure, I expected that but it still sucked.
To put the cherry on top of the cake of suckery, I got stood up. Peyton knows the real reason why I don't go to parties other than Noah. Everyone else had a vague idea.
During Prom, Noah and Peyton had stayed at home with me, despite my arguments against that. We stayed behind watching reruns of the vampire diaries, stuffing ourselves with junk food.
That was the plan for the graduation party too.
The night when virgins were sacrificed.
