School was going well for the father son duo. Though the third day Remus did bring home a dead lizard he named Alfred, but that's a whole different story. Remus was learning quickly, he made new friends within the first week of school, three girls he calls the Black Mamba, the Golden Eagle, and the Red Dragon. Though the girls had real names (Bianca, Anastasia, and Katana) he rarely calls them by their actual names, using the nicknames or as Remus puts it "Code Names". Also, on one December day Janus finally got Remus to call him dad to which the child happily continued to call him.

Everything was going wonderfully, it was a nice April day, one that wasn't pouring down buckets of rain. Janus was walking down the side of the street to pick up Remus from school since he was close by and thought the bus was a nice change from driving. Remus seems to like it anyway.

Janus was just passing an alley way when a box caught his eye. It was an average cardboard box you'd find kittens or puppies in, with faded black letters and ripped sides. Janus peered inside, curious, to see if there was anything inside. He was not prepared for what he saw in it.

Laying in the box, with its eyes closed and wrapped on a dark purple and black blanket was a baby. A baby who didn't look to be over six months old with wavy raven black hair, a light dusting of freckles on their checks and an adorable button nose.

Janus stared at the baby before looking around the alley for the mother. When he found nothing he peered down the side walk both ways but it too turned up empty. With nothing to go off of Janus looked back down at the child.

"What the hell now?" he thought as he pondered what to do with the baby.

He checked his wrist watch to see it was getting close to the time to pick Remus up from school. Since Janus actually had morals, unlike the person who dropped the kid off, he decided to pick up the baby wrapped in a blanket and take him home. Once there he can call Child Protection Services and they can find the kid's parents. If not then you best believe Janus was adopting the baby.

He carefully picked up the child and held him in his arms before heading to the school to pick up his son. He arrived just in time, waiting outside with other parents as the kids started to flow out of the school building. Janus laid eyes on the little boy he called his own as he ran to him, a big grin on his face as he got near.

"Dad! Dad!" the boy shouted.

Janus smiled and lovingly ruffled his son's hair.

"Yes Remus, did you have a good day at school?" Janus asked.

Remus nodded happily.

"The Black Mamba, the Golden Eagle, the Red Dragon and I caught a snake at recess and I got a dirt pie!" the almost four year old cheered.

"Oh. Lovely," said Janus, "Did you eat the dirt pie?"

"Yup! Who dis?" Remus asked, pointing at the baby.

"Oh, it's a baby I found. We're going to try and find his family," Janus said, taking Remus' tiny hand and walking over to the bus stop.

"If he doesn't have one can he join our family?" the toddler asked with his big green eyes.

"Of course Remus," the father said.

Remus smiled and looked happily at the baby resting in Janus' arms.

"I've always wanted a brother who'll stay," Remus whispered.
