*Short chapter*

(Evangeline's POV)
This morning the palace will be holding a knighting ceremony for me to knight the soldiers who are capable of taking care of our people and fight for our city. Another dull day in the quiet palace might I say. I'm the Empress's daughter: Evangeline Serenity, for god's sake. I love being in charge and keeping everything organized, but it does get tiring after a while. Ever since the previous empress, my mother, died, I made it my duty to make her proud and continue her legacy. I just want to make all of my people feel safe and happy in their environment it would be a disaster if an enemy comes and attacks. I walk to the throne and sit down. One knight, seemed determined but timid while meeting us. Another, definitely born to be a leader, he was ready to demand and attack and serve when needed no matter what. I could see it in his face. The knights go on, and on, and on. Some are knighted, some are not. It quickly becomes closer to the afternoon and I see someone who looks familiar. I could recognize their hair. Could it be? No, it can't. There's no way.

(Alexa's POV)
The loud clunking of my armor isn't contributing well to me being anxious about seeing Eva again. Does she remember me? Will she even accept me? I ask myself. She might've even forgotten you exist Alexa. I tell my thoughts to shut up as I'm getting closer and closer to be next. About 10 minutes pass and I'm next in line. I put on a firm face and walk towards her and kneel.
"Hey Eva." I say.
"Alexa? Is that really you?"

(Evangeline's POV)
I bolt out of my seat and stand up. It's really Alexa! My first friend as a child!
"You remember me?" She says.
"Remember you? Of course I do!" I run down to her and pick her up to give her a big hug. "It's been a while hasn't it?"
"Yeah! Only 6 years or so" she sarcastically replies. I see that she's still the same, playful, Alexa that I knew.

(Alexa's POV)
She knows me! She remembers me!! I'm filled with glee but then I see the guards' face colored with confusion, I laugh and decide to calm down and say "We should probably continue this ceremony, shouldn't we?" I kneel down again and bow my head down. She recites the speech she has to say and boom! I'm officially a knight!
"I told you I would repay you one day." I tell her.
"I know." She replies.
