Scanned the room. None of the faces were familiar. Lana was probably going to be fashionably late.
To the bar!

"What can I get you beautiful?" The waiter approached.
"A glass of water will do for now."
"Coming up!"

I felt the presence of someone behind me and turned
"Jayla! Never thought I'll see you here... and.... in this. Woah you're looking hot."
OMG... I-it was Liam Kyle. Liam spoke to me? Okay, not to me; technically, he thinks it's Jayla but still!!!
I could feel my inner goddess lighten up.

I've had a crush on him for years. He was literally an angel fallen from heaven. I could drool over him all day. His smirk was remarkable; it always made my toes curl.
Just like the other guys, he had his eye on Jayla. I don't know why Jayla always rejected him. Can you believe she has never even dated before? Not like I have but she was the school's beauty queen. You get the point?
She's into that lovey dovey soulmate fairytale but how is she gonna find love if she doesn't give anyone a chance? Still beats me.

This was awkward. But I wasn't going to ruin this chance. I wanted to get to know him even if it was just for tonight. Jayla's gonna hate me for this but here goes nothing...

"Hello Liam." I faked self confidence and added a tint of displeasure to my tone. It has to work. That's how Jayla speaks to him, right?
He looked at me quizzically. I quickly crossed my hands over my chest, cocking my head slightly up.
"What is it?" I questioned.
"You're behaving like the geek... I-I mean your sister."
I was hurt by his choice of words but I was playing Jayla now so better suck it up.

"Want a drink?" His deep voice broke into my reverie.
"I don't drink, thank you."
"A little sip won't hurt. Come on Jayla."
It was a little sip after all.

After a few... or probably a lot of drinks, I lost count after my fourth, Liam and I hit the dance floor. I don't know where I got this much energy from. I was excited.

Our dance became somewhat sensational but who cares, I'll probably never get to do this again especially if Myles finds out I'm so wasted.

Suddenly, the music stopped. Lana was staring right at us. Fury burning in her eyes.
"You slut! Get away from my boyfriend! Security!!!!!" Lana screamed.

I was officially kicked out but not without Lana hurling insults at me. I headed straight to Myles' Porsche. I felt like I would die of shame. I dialed his number. I couldn't drive home like this. He didn't answer.

Liam came up to me.
"Jael... err I mean Jayla. You're really not gonna let that stuck up snobby princess get to you? Don't let her ruin your night. The night's still young."

I don't know whether it's the alcohol but I felt a surge of boldness rush through my veins. One that I've never felt before. Besides, this was Liam Kyle asking me out!
"Let's get out of here."

I knew it was wrong but where's the fun in doing everything right? I wanted to be like a normal high school girl with high school adventures not a boring Christian sister consecrated unto the Lord. I wanted to be cool too. I shut my brain down and followed my heart.
And my inner goddess screamed, 'Go, girl!'
