"Lee Jeno," the sickly soft voice of the boy called as Jeno was attempting to sneak out of the orphanage. The thick blanket of fear that fell over Jeno stemmed from the voice, which he associated with pain, vulnerability and lies.

'I'm caught' he thought as he shook so much that the window he was holding open was rattling with his movements. He couldn't move at all. His whole being was frozen in fear as his bedroom door cracked open, and in came the source of the fear. The backpack on his back suddenly weighed the weight of the sky as his vision blurred in terror.

"Trying to escape? How many times have you been told, Jeno, that nothing is as easy as it seems?"

Jeno's hands trembled as he let go of the window, the thud of it closing muffled by the howling gale outside. His mouth quivered as the words he had rehearsed for this outcome left him for dead. He was in trouble. This was merely another escape-attempt gone horribly wrong, but it was also so much more than that. The repercussions of being caught outweighed the pros of pulling off the escape.

The moonlight fell across the other boy's face as he approached, showing his parallel age to Jeno. How could two seventeen year old boys be so different? The innocence of adolescence was nothing more than a scam when compared to the other boy.

Jeno lived in his own personal hell.
