Emily:

Time for school. First day of 11th grade bitches!!

I eat my pancakes I made all alone. My mom's asleep. My dad is dead. So is Granny and Pop-Pop. I am the only child. Mom is a single mom.

She is so tired. She was everywhere, putting up the lights, getting the tree, getting eggnog and making cookies for today. I should let her sleep. After all, in two weeks, it is Christmas and she still has a lot to do.

The bus is here. I grab my bag and head outside, I call out to mom who is now awaken. She waves goodbye wishing me a good first day. I nod.

On the bus, I know no one. Everyone is sitting with someone and I am not. I am sitting alone, while everyone laughs and sings and plays on phones.

"Hey," someone says. I look up from my shoes to see a boy with brown, short hair standing in front of me. "can I sit with you? You look lonely."

I want to decline and say I'm fine but he looks so charming. His smile is hard to say no to, so I nod.

"Cool." he smiles even bigger this time. "I'm Jake." I don't answer. "And you are...?" I still don't. "Hello? I am talking to you!" he laughs and waves his hand in my face.

"Emily James." I giggle. "Oh thank god, I thought you were mute!" he jokes. I laugh again.

"I have two brothers, they look like me. I'm one third of my brothers." Jake says and shifts his body closer to me. I try to go farther, but the bus window is there.

"I'm one whole." I say. He looks at me with a twisted face. He doesn't get it.

"I'm the only child." I explain. "Oh." "What are your brother's names?" I change the subject. "Justin and, get ready, JOYCE!" the blue eyed boy screams. I smile, for real.

"You have a nice smile." he compliments. Oh lord, when are we going to arrive at school. "Thank you. You have pretty eyes-I mean, nice eyes." I giggle for the like, one hundredth time this bus ride.

School. School. School. YES! We are here!

"Everyone off this bus!" the driver says. I think she's happy? No idea.

"All of the grades, to the gym!" she announces to all of us.

"I know the way." Jake whispers in my ear. Yeah, so do I. You're not special.

He grabs my hand. Okay then!

"Let's go!" he calls, starting to run, his grip is tight. "Okay."

We arrive. People running through the doors. People chatting. Laughing. No phones or singing like the bus, though.

"Jake!" someone calls from the distance.

That boy walks over with another one by his side. They are twins. The triplets.

"Joyce, Justin, this is Emily James." he introduces.

"Woah. She is, woah." one of them says. "Hey back off Justin, she's mine." I guess Joyce says. "Nope. You have a girl name." "SO!" "I'm just saying, she probably wants someone who ISN'T a 'mess-around-with' type of guy." He's right. I don't want to be used. "Oh shut up, Justin! I do not, MESS AROUND with girls." Joyce pouts.

"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!" Jake yells, gaining attention from many people. I grab his sleeve and force him to sit down. He doesn't complain. He sits.

"I was just saying I am not a 'mess around with' type of guy." Joyce explains, voice low. "Uh, yeah, you are. You freaking dated her for a month only for the make out sessions." "Did not! I would never use a girl for making out. I am a gentleman." he says through his teeth. "Whatever."

The meeting goes well, except for the part when the triplets fought. But, it went well.

I go up to the principle to get my schedule. It says my first class is math. I all ready know how to do that. 2+2=5. No, it's 4. Ugh. Do you see what summer does to you?

"I wanna listen to music." a familiar voice says to me. "Megan? Is that really you?" I say. "I, uh, I think so." she looks at her arms and touches her face.

"OMG GIRL I THOUGHT YOU MOVED!!" I yell. "I did. I moved to my Nana's house. She lives like 5 houses from my mum sooooo." She's British btw.

"Text me in class okay? I have gym." "Okay. I have math." "Oh, I don't have sneakers today so text me whenever before 9:00." She says. "Gotcha! Bye." "Bye."
