Xanolemnad crinkled his nose. "Wait. I'm confused. Who are we talking about?"
His brother grinned. "Ambie! Her real name is Amber!"
Xanolemnad nodded. "Ah, her."
Alex stared at both his uncle and his father. "How can you two react so calmly to this? She basically just said where Mom has been this whole time!"
Zaecondis looked around. "I guess I should free you all, since three of you have conquered my fear game." And he did, then turned back to Alex. "Besides Alexander, I knew where she was this whole time. In fact," He grinned. "I paid her a visit maybe eleven years ago."
Mary screamed as loud as she could. She fell to her knees, and George and Hearthfell ran to help her. She put her hands to her mouth and tears rolled down her face as she said, "I-I it can't be! You're the man who attacked us on our eighth birthday!"
"What?!" Hearthfell grew especially angry, but George was confused. "What are you talking about?"
Zaecondis smiled. "So you're Mary and George! Wow, you've grown so big since I last saw you! But George, your sister meant to say this: the scar that you have came from me visiting your mom eleven years ago! It was caused by me chopping your head off! Then, your sister brought you back to life under direction of your mom!"
George looked at him and also became angry. But before he could say anything, Bella said, "Wait. What was the price?"
Zaecondis was puzzled. "Price?"
"Daiko said once that in order 'to bring someone back to life, something has to be given up in return.'"
Zaecondis stared at Daiko in astonishment. "I can't believe you told them!" He then looked Beal to Bella, smiling. "But yes, in order to bring George back to life, the price was that Amber had to die within the next fifteen years."
Mary just sat there."You mean... I killed Mom? She started to cry.
That was what caused both Hearthfell and George to go up to Zaecondis with rage. They were planning to fight him, George with his fists and Hearthfell with a lance. But Zaecondis just smiled and kicked them, which made them be pushed back.
"I've one more question."Everyone turned to Jarred. "Does Alex, Mary and George having the same mother mean that you're their father?"
Zaecondis looked confused. "Of course not! And Ambie isn't even Mary and George's biological mother. She is to Alex though." He snapped his fingers, and Xanolemnad nodded. Xanolemnad looked toward a group of people, in which two people started walking towards them as if compelled to. It was the same couple that looked like Mary and George.
Zaecondis smiled and put his arms around the couple's shoulders. "These are your biological parents, Mary, George."
The twins just stood there as Zaecondis started another story: "Everyone except for us is an illusion here created by my brother. But they are memories of real people who were my servants. These two had you two, and Amber supposedly didn't want you twins to be subject to my will. So she left Alex with me and ran away with you too."
Mary and George gasped. Zaecondis smiled, but that smile faded as a gun was held up to the side of his head.
"Shut the hell up," Alex said, with a look that said that his father was the most disgusting thing in the world.
Zaecondis shrugged. "It's all true. Don't choose to believe me if you don't want to."
"Of course it's all true." Daiko closed her book and looked up with a face full of rage. "But no one hurts my friends."
