Her orange eyes gazed over the photographs she always held close. A heavy sigh left her lips as she slumped down onto the bed. After a long day of work, she was exhausted to death.
Christmas was approaching, and just like every other year, the workload increased during this time of year.
She tucked her rogue curls that slips from her bun, behind her ears. This was her final year at work and she was going to miss being here.
A bell on the door caught her attention. Still clad in her uniform she quickly pulled a beanie over her head, hiding her unnatural features.
Across the door was a person clad in a similar uniform. His eyes glowed the same orange color but his hair was like a golden halo around his face.
"You made it?" she asked with excitement lacing her voice. Her body thrummed with excitement and her feet tingled with the need to jump.
He nodded, sharing the same excited look as her. Inviting himself inside he pulled out a small drawstring bag from his pocket. A small tinkling sound followed as the bag moved.
"It took me some time but I got them ready." he blurted in his husky voice.
Taking the bag in her hand, she spilled the contents of the bag in her palm. With a small tinkle, small glowing jingle bells fell out of the pouch. They glowed with an unearthly golden glow, casting a warm light around them.
At the results, a small smile made its way across her face and she let out a squeal. She jumped and hugged the boy, showcasing her gratitude.
"Thank you! Thank you so much, Robin. These are perfect."
He bushed at her words and scratched the back of his head. As if a thought struck him, his eyes grew wide.
"I forgot to tell you but the higher up have found a new form for you. You can check it now," he whispered in an awed voice.
With eyes wide, she ran to her kitchen. Getting a bowl of water she took off her necklace. The blue liquid in the small bottle glowed in such a way that it seemed galaxies were trapped in it.
With her hands shaking, she poured the liquid in the bowl of water. The boy peered over her shoulder. His own hands were snaked to his similar necklace.
With awe on both of their faces, they saw the water swirl with glow spreading through it and ripples pacing through its surface. Moving from the bowl, the water swirled to shape of a girl. The dark blue color of water blurred to the color of a woman.
With eyes, a black pool and hair a delicate shade of strawberry blonde the smile she had on her face was the only thing similar between the two girls.
"She is gorgeous." the boy whispered, still in wonder with the beautiful face.
Once again the water turned turbulent and moved away from them. Moving towards the ceiling it slowly disappeared into the thin air, leaving them behind with their thoughts.
