This chapter is dedicated to @ImErayz for being my first vote! cheers!

"Wait, hold up. A. I guessing these are very important people, B. if they are very important people, why am I meeting them in normal clothes?! I'm not even wearing shoes for Christ sake!" Ebony turned to walk back into her room to change into some clothes good enough to meet important people in, when Adalaide gripped her arm and pulled her back round to face her. "No, they have waited long enough for you, you will not keep them any longer! Is that understood?" she thundered, her voice filled with power, shaking Ebony to her core who could do nothing but stand there and nod her head, feeling two feet tall under Adalaide's murderous glare "Yes Miss Hemmingway I understand." Came the mumbled response. With that said Winters was then dragged by the arm at an alarming pace, to which she was practically not touching the floor until they reached a grand oak door, like those seen in movies that hid the main villains behind, the door groans, opening up and revealing a large room, inside was nothing but a bare 12 seater table, each chair filled with an old and aging, assumed, vampire. Each as menacing and vindictive looking as the next.

"Adalaide" came a deep rumbling voice, scratching Ebony's ears as it entered them. "Is this it? The one the prophecy foretold?"

Voices from around the table started to merge and mumble together almost trying to determine through a vote if it was indeed true. Adalaide patiently waited for the noise to die down and then responded, "Look for yourself, you know as well as I do that I don't make mistakes, you can see her aura. She is the one."

An elderly vampire at the end chuckles. "well Adalaide, you are once again right. We were wrong to even think you could be wrong."

"Thank you Mortier, I'll make sure to add that quote to my list of references" Adalaide said with a smile. While this back and forth conversation happened around Ebony, she stood there slowly getting frustrated. She was right here, she was not some puppy they could talk down to.

"Well what are you going to do with her then? She will not be left to her own devices I assume?" spoke another vampire in an almost comical high pitched voice. This was the last straw for Ebony, finally reaching her level of patience, she released her frustration "Hey! I'm standing right here, you can at least have the common decency to speak as if I'm h-" before she could even finish her sentence, she felt a sharp pain across her right cheek while flying to the floor with a hard thump. The cheek felt like it was instantly swelling. Suddenly there were fingertips gripping her cheek, the right cheek painfully throbbing, she grunted in pain as she was lifted up onto her tippy toes by Adalaide "You do not talk to the elders that was." She thundered "do you understand?" Ebony quickly nodded; her body still weak from the pain that had already been previously inflicted upon her by the change. However instead of letting go, Adalaide just squeezed harder, Ebony could almost feel the bone moulding under her fingertips. "Really? I don't believe you." It was at this moment that Ebony looked into the ancient vampire's eyes and saw their fiery colour. She nodded again as much as she could and mumbled out as best she could "I won't do it again Miss Adalaide".

Adalaide smirk and dropped her. "good. I sure hope you won't be a handful Winters"

"No Miss Adalaide" She replied, dejected that she was acting so weak, and cradling her jaw.

"Now. Where were we?" Hemmingway cheerfully spoke, clapping her hands once. The faces of the Council were un-moving as if the ordeal that Ebony had just been through was nothing to them. Which she quickly realised is probably true.

"You were just getting to what you were going to do with her" spoke up high pitched vampire, which in Ebony's anger she had given the name "Gertrude" A ridiculous name for a ridiculous voice.
