With River leading our charge, we slowly snuck past the unwary, snoozing gobbolds that sleeps so openly outside of the cave. After, we followed the well-thought-out plan we have devised with our utmost knowledge and experience.

"Aight fam, here's the summary of our grand strategy." River advances on to discuss to ourselves the rundown of our overrated plan.

"First, we throw this flintrune right in the middle of the cave." she then takes out the said flintrune from her pocket.

Flintrunes are combustible stones that could easily be enlightened into flames without much effort once you take the seal off them, like making a small spark by firing an arrow to it. The flames it produces are also wilder and bigger in comparison to what the other flammable materials could do, according to River. Though that mostly depends on size and place, according to River again.

"Second, after putting it at the middle of their nest, I'll fling and hurl my favourite javelin right at it with, well, my trusted and beloved javelin," she elucidated as she slightly drools over her budget lance.

Of course, I doubted this plan a bit at first. "Can you really hit the stone with your spear even though it'll be completely dark in there?"

"Yeah, it will... What if you, say, hit one of the gobbolds instead? It could like, scream and attract everyone in the cave, thus endangering and entrapping us as they make a meat fest out of us."

"Please don't describe it like that. I have great vision remember? When we found that camouflaging korodrys."

"I know, but it's still dar—"

"I'll let you know that I have night visions as well, far from being deemed with nyctalopia."

"I doubt that's true, but if you say so. But then, how about your aiming? I doubt you're good at handling spears too."

"Ouch. What do you mean too? You don't even have any shred of evidence against my proficiency in spears and javelins."

"Didn't you mention to me how having a lance as a weapon for a change feels—"

"Okay, that's enough!"

In the end, River teary-eyed waged the rest of the day and night, honing his mastery with the lance. I think she broke three lances in the process, though it's not that much of a deal since we could just make another one.

With determination and effort combined, however, it didn't take River long enough to become adept in spear hurling, but...
