Chapter 2

"So whats a pretty young lady like you goin' to that dirty park for anyways?"

He turned down a long gravel road surrounded by trees. I panicked,"Umm this isn't the way to the park!" There was no response. I looked over, this was the first time I had noticed his broad shoulders and muscles. If he were to try anything I wouldn't stand a chance.

He pulled over to the side of the gravel road. "You didn't answer my question." He said as he unbuckled and slid closer. A lump formed in my throat, it was difficult to speak. "I was going to see my friend." I didn't give him time to talk, "Please take me back. Please dont hurt me." Tears filled my eyes, "please?" He wiped the the tears away," Its okay. I'm not gonna hurt you," he put his hand on my leg "I could just use a little company."

"Back off!"

"Hey, hey calm down! I don't wanna hurt you but if I have to..." Thats all he said.

We sat in silence for so long, I finally grew tired of it. "So whats your name anyway?" He leaned in close to my face as if he were going to kiss me and in his deep scratchy voice he whispers," Derek, what about you?" I didn't see the point in lying about my name he would do what ever he wanted with me anyway. "Jamie." He nodded. "Nice. How old?" It seemed as he were interviewing me to see if I had what he wanted. "I'm 17. you?" He smiled at me in the most comforting way. "twenty-five." He replied. This man was quite attactive once I sat back and thought about it. The way he smiled at me reminded of the way seniors used to smile at me when i was a freshman, as if I were a little puppy. He put his arm around me,"Look in the dash." I hesitated, "What?" The whole he kept an grin on his face. "Look in the glove compartment." I opened the small compartment infront of me, and a small pistol laid there. I couldn't breath. "I don't want to use this, but if you let out any type of noise that could draw attention you'll be sorry!"

I began to cry again, "Please don't!" With his arm still wrapped around me he rubbed his rough finger tips against the side of my face, pushing my hair behind my ear.He leaned forward and kissed down my neck. "Ssssshhhh," he said, "it'll all be over soon."

I tried to fight back but it was hopeless. He was so strong. He made me lay long ways on the smelly truck seats, as he slid his hand beneath my shirt. What could I do? Scream? Then he would out his pistol and kill me without a second thought. I wasn't ready to die. So I weeped as softly as I could. He removed my pants and unzipped his, and I let him have his way with me. I tried to think of a better place, but there was no escaping the dark and humiliating position I was in. I closed my eyes tighter and tighter, cringing from the unbearable pain. I was so alone, I didn't even have my cell phone. The Windows were foggy, sweet dripped from his brow as he groaned louder and louder, until suddenly, he was off me. I just laid there and tried to catch my breath, and once I did I quickly put my pants on and clung to the door. He sat there and watched me cry without any sense of pity, his sweety face seemed to grow weaker and weaker. He lay his head back against the window and tried to go to sleep. My cries became louder and louder, I could not control it any longer. Thats when I noticed a puddle of blood beside me. I clinched my stomach and let out an awful scream.

He leaped up as if something bit him and put his huge hands around my neck and squeezed. "Shut up! Shut up!" I could smell the alcohol on his breath. An odd moaning came from my throat as I struggled to catch my breath. He pulled the pistol out of the glove compartment and pressed it against my face, "Now what did I say?!" I panicked I started kicking and punching, but it was like hitting a brick wall he did seem to feel a thing. My vision began to blur, I was out.

I awakened In the floor of the truck surrounded by empty beer cans. He was leaned against the window like before, in a deep sleep. He had been drinking again. I slowly got out of the floor and began to weep. I wiped away the tears, " no." I whispered. I had to get out while I had the chance. I looked around for a light that might come on when I open the door. I couldn't find one so I didn't waste any time I grab the handle and turn to take one last look to make sure his eyes were still closed. I exhaled and pulled the handle, pushed the door wide open and froze. it was too quiet. I turned to find Derek still sleeping. So i jumped out and cracked the door so that I wouldn't wake him. I took a few careful, silent foot steps before I took off running.

Running for what felt like miles, until I no longer had the strength to carry on. I crashed into the snow where I closed my eyes and slept.
