Long ago, there was a world without any abnormalities. The average straight man would kiss his wife and child goodbye, rub his wife's belly (of which withheld their second child) and then head off to another boring day at his office job.
And then that all changed with the birth of a glow in the dark baby in Qing Qing, China.
After this event, infants were being born all around the globe with inexplicable powers that varied from changing the appearance of the average human to being able to manipulate the very laws of physics. The public began to nickname these oddities "quirks".
The name stuck, even after a century quirks began to show up.
As I'm sure you can imagine, with the new found powers came new found mischievousness illegal activity. Obviously, people with good morals fought against the criminals and presto! The career path of the hero was created.
With all new things came weariness and hatred. Quirks (and those who possess them) are no exception to this fact. So when people are born with quirks that require questionable morals to be effective, it is no surprise that their peers will treat them unfairly - even as children.
(a/n: hey! to old readers who just got a notification on this, i'm super sorry i haven't worked on this in like a year and a half. i just noticed the formatting on the prologue and i was not having that today, so i fixed it. i've got about half of the first chapter done [yes, after a goddamn year] so might continue working on it, who knows. i only want to show the public work that i'm proud of, so as someone who suffers from depression and a lot of self-consciousness, i don't put out work that often. thanks for understanding, and i hope you like the rest of the book! [if it ever comes out lmao])
