Working in the BAU is a lot of hard work. The constant stress and anxiety coursing through your veins is enough to make anyone want to quit and settle down in a quite town and work at a bookstore while drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes everyday.
Well, let's say that I'm not normal. I've been working at the BAU for 2 years now and not once have I wanted to quit and settle down. I like the thrill of the chase, I like the satisfaction from knowing that one less asshole is on the streets causing havoc and death. But that doesn't mean that it's not tough.
So if I'm not going to quit then that means I need something to help with the chaos and pain that does occur with this job, right? Well, that's correct. Everyone on the team needs that.
When there was a really tough case, multiple deaths, almost loosing a member of our team, and it took 6 days for us to complete, Garcia had a a really good idea.
"Guys! How about we go to a bar tonight?" Everyone had grumbled, neither of us wanting to do anything other then go home, shower, order take out and fall asleep watching mind-numbing television. However, her persistence won us over and we all met up an hour later at a local bar.
And it was amazing. For once, we weren't agents, we were just a group of friends having fun. Because that's what we are, we are all friends. So, we made a plan. Once a month we would go to a bar and have drinks, forgetting about the stress of the job. That's how we escape.
So, sitting at my desk, filing away my last bit of paperwork, I was excited to get dressed up and have fun.
"You going tonight, Sarah?" Prentiss asks from next to me, packing up her stuff. I nod my head in agreement.
"I need it. You going to be there?" She nods, smiling. We continue talking in silence until Morgan walks up to us.
"Hey girls. You guys going out tonight?" He asks. We both nod, causing a smile to spread across his face. "Great," he says. I stand up and walk over to him.
"How many girls do you need there?" I ask. He smirks.
"I always need you on my arm," he says, putting his arm around my waist. I just laugh and roll my eyes. I hear someone clear their throat.
"Sup, pretty boy?" Morgan asks, arm still around me. He shakes his head, looking at his arm around me.
"Awe, you jealous Spencer?" I tease. I grab his hand and pull him in closer, his arm around my waist as well. "There, we can all be friends. Okay, now we're off the see the wizard the wonderful wizard of Oz." I say, skipping forward. However, both men keep their feet planted, causing me to have broke free from their grasp. I gasp in mock offense, clutching my chest. "Guys! You ditched me."
"Sorry baby, no skipping for me. Maybe pretty boy here." He says, nodding towards Reid.
"Spencey, would you skip with me?" I ask, doing a baby voice while giving him puppy dog eyes.
"C'mon Sarah, stop pressuring the boys to skip with you." Garcia piped in, apparently has been watching the whole time. I clutch my bag to my side.
"How dare you accuse me of pressuring them!" She just laughs.
"I'll skip with you," she says. I smile and grab her hand.
"To Oz!" I say, us skipping away till we reach the door. I drop her hand and turn back to the boys. "See you both later?" I ask, mostly looking at Reid. He nods his head. I smile, wave, and exit the building, Garcia close behind. When her and I step into the elevator, she speaks up.
"Sarah, you and Reid would be a really cute match." I blush.
"I don't know, Garcia. I don't think he would feel that way about me. Besides, I don't even know if we're allowed to date other agents."
