By the time they got to the warehouse, it was pitch dark outside.
Joker let out a loud yawn, startling the girl laying asleep in his passenger seat. She was curled up holding her small body for warmth. A few strands of hair had fallen on her face and Joker was tempted to fix it for her.
He hated this side of himself for wanting to go soft.
You know you want to... the most annoying voice in Joker's head spoke. Jack... This voice always came back to haunt Joker for all the terrible things he has done.
Joker thought he had finally gotten rid of him but he comes back occasionally to remind him who he use to be.
Jack was a sweet boy, who would let everyone walk all over him. He was a coward.
Joker though... no one would dare cross him.

Joker got out the van and walked over to the passenger door. He hesitated but picked her up bridal style. She dug her head in his chest and hung an arm around his neck. Joker smiled a little. Yep. Jack is definitely taking over.

He managed to walk around the warehouse without waking her up. This time he took her to a different room than she had been staying in before. This one had a bed and even a bathroom. Joker gently layed her down on the soft bed and pulled the sheets over her. He turned the lights off and closed the doors.
He walked down the dark hallway still a little surprised with himself.
Don't worry... you don't care about her. She's just a toy remember! You're just trying to get on her good side to get her to cooperate. Joker reassured himself.
Yea yea... next thing you know you're gonna be cuddling her to sleep! Jack said mockingly.

Joker got to his room and locked the door. He would usually take his war paint off before bed but he was exhausted. The voices had become louder over the past few days. Jack was always trying overpower him and take over. But Joker wasn't gonna let that happen... everything's going his way and he wasn't not gonna let a coward ruin it.

I woke up to sunlight hitting my face. That confused me but then I felt soft sheets around me. Where was I? Had I been saved! This living nightmare was over?! I stood up from the bed and walked over to the door. I twisted the door nob but it didn't open. It was locked. I guess I was still in this hell hole.
I walked around the room and then I noticed another close door. I twisted the door nob and this one was open. It was just a bathroom! I walked in and noticed the pale pink color on the walls. The bathroom was really girly... in fact, the whole room was girly. Everything was a soft innocent pastel color. The joker had probably held other hostages in this same room before me. That thought made me shiver.
But this room was more comforting than the cell I had been held in the past week.

I began to explore the room and possibly find something to help me escape.
I noticed the sunlight beaming through the window that had woke me up earlier. All hope of the window being my way to freedom washed away when I looked outside. If I attempted to jump out of the window I would probably break every bone in my body.
I let out a frustrated groan.
I walked around opening drawers to see if I could find anything useful. Some of them were filled with old shirts. I pulled one out and it seemed too big for me. They weren't exactly girl clothes. Were these his? I smelled the piece of fabric but it didn't carry his scent. The smell in the shirt was more of clean laundry than explosives and gasoline.
I grabbed the black t-shirt and took it with me to the bathroom.
I worried that the Joker would bust into the room while I was showering or worse while I was changing. But a shower was just what I needed.

I let the water run waiting for it to get warmer. I realized the water wasn't gonna get any warmer so I hopped in. I began to wash my hair with some shampoo and conditioner I had found on one the shelves. I harshly scrubbed my scalp and body.
I usually enjoyed the peace of showers but this shower was stressful. I wasn't use to worrying about a crazy killer clown busting into my room. The water soon became unbearably cold. I let the freezing water rinse my body one last time. Who knew how long it would be till I got the chance to take another shower...
I stepped out of the shower feeling a lot cleaner. My face no longer had mascara stains under my eyes. It was back to its natural pale self.
I patted off my old clothes trying to get the dirt off of it. I put back on my same ripped jeans but put on the black shirt I had found instead of my own. The shirt reached to my thighs. I rolled the shirt up and tied a not so it wouldn't be as long. I looked decent. Looking fashionable wasn't my main priority at the moment so I shrugged it off.
I walked back to the room and layed on the bed. The sun had nearly been covered by rain clouds again. I had been guessing the hours by seeing whether the sun was out or not. It probably wasn't accurate but it made me feel like I was still in touch with reality.

I hadn't even realized I had fallen asleep until I had someone shaking me awake.
"I brought you food. Eat up." Joker said.
I sat up and looked at the food tray. It had a pop tart, bagel, and a scrambled egg. This was definitely more than he had given me last time. Maybe he was in a good mood?
"Thanks." I said starting to devour the food. I was so distracted by the explosion of flavors that I didn't notice Joker was still in the room. He was staring at me intensely. His face was hard to read. I mean he was the Joker, who knew what kind of crazy things he thought of.

"The shirt." He said with a blank expression.
The shirt? What the hell was he talk-
I looked down at the baggy t-shirt that wasn't mine. He continued to stare at me looking for response. I couldn't tell if he was mad or was just curious as to why I was wearing it.
"Oh- um... my other clothes wear dirty and I found this one in one of the drawers." I spoke quickly. He stayed quiet and headed towards the door but stopped and turned back around to face me. He looked hesitant but spoke again.

"It looks good on you." He said calmly. He was acting overly nice and it made me feel uneasy. This wasn't anything like the Joker.
I sat there speechless and with that he left again.

As the joker walked out the door he scolded himself for getting too friendly with the girl. He had told himself that to gain her trust he would have to be nicer. Or at least try to...
But he had set boundaries. If he noticed the girl start to get too comfortable he would have to act strict again. This was a game to him. Messing with the girl's mind... gaining all her trust and then breaking it down right after.

Joker walked down to his office. He had tried to keep it as organized as he could but piles of papers filled his desk. The floor was covered by crumbled up paper and plastic water bottles. Joker would tell others that he wasn't a 'guy with a plan' but that obviously wasn't true. He had multiple plans yet to come and the girl he had kidnapped was one of them.
He began to pace around the room mumbling things to himself. He didn't know how he would introduce the girl to Gotham yet. Of course his first step was to corrupt her.

Joker called over all of his goons. He was going out on a little business meeting and needed some help. He directed for his most trusted goons to leave with him while the other half would stay and make sure melanie wouldn't try to escape. He didn't trust leaving his men alone with her but he was sure they were too scared to disobey him.
