(⚠️⚠️⚠️SMUT WARNING⚠️⚠️⚠️)
What the fuck is Hermione doing here? Sam's eyes widened as she watched the beautiful Gryffindor girl walked through the door. It was obvious she was here as Cormac's date for they had matching outfits. A knot suddenly formed in Sam's stomach.
I thought she said he's not her boyfriend.
But, merlins. Sam couldn't deny Hermione looked like a goddess that night.
Roo must have noticed Sam staring at somebody on the floor below them because she straightaway asked, "A friend from Hogwarts?"
Sam immediately looked away and nodded. She averted her attention at the students gathered on her right instead. The tall muscular male students were all wearing very thick fur coats. Sam thought the place wasn't humid enough.
"Where did you get the plant?" Sam asked as she took a sip from her soda. Her hand was clutching a small purse containing the missing ingredient, the one they needed for Hamish.
"I got it from a friend," Roo replied. "I've got connections. Plus, your brother was very persistent. What do you need the plant for anyway? Is he turning into a wolf or something?"
Sam bit her lips as she shook her head. "For research."
"I suppose," Roo replied, dropping the subject.
Roo's hand suddenly slithered across the table to touch Sam's. But Sam was quick to pull away, feeling uncomfortable.
"Sorry," Roo muttered. "You're still mad at me, huh?"
Sam deeply sighed. "No."
"If it weren't for the aconite, you wouldn't be here?"
"Yes."
Roo stared at her eyes but Sam did her best to avoid them. She didn't know what Roo was up to but she remembered Draco mention she had some important matters to discuss.
"Draco said you've got something to tell me?" Sam then asked.
"Yup," Roo answered. Then she forced a laugh. "Though, more of it later. Let's not ruin the evening."
Sam was growing curious at the moment. Maybe Roo was hiding something. Although she couldn't really blame her. Roo was emotional when they met earlier. She must have said sorry for the hundredth time. Only then Sam knew that the spark was gone.
Sam couldn't deny that Roo looked so beautiful and dashing in her red dress. But it was different now. Sam couldn't get to make herself feel something when Roo hugged her tight. Sam couldn't feel anything when Roo said how much she missed her.
It would seem then that Samantha has already accepted they were nothing more than just acquaintances. But she knew that that hurt Roo more.
"How's Hogwarts?" Roo asked, noticing Sam's silence.
Sam forced a smile. "It was okay. Not a lot different from Ilvermony."
"How are you settling in? Do you have many friends?" Roo went on.
Sam only nodded, remembering the good and bad days she had in the school.
"How about girlfriend?" Roo slyly asked, eyeing her while drinking.
Sam only snorted and decided to climb down the stairs from the balcony. Roo suddenly held her arm.
"Smart move avoiding the question, Sammy," Roo whispered behind her.
Out of nowhere, they bumped into Hermione and Cormac on the way down. It was even more awkward after they have introduced themselves and concurred random topics. Cormac was a big talker. But at least he wasn't the defensive type he was at school. At least he didn't bring the love potion stuff into the conversation.
