The Meaning of Zero

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to!" Xenon says. "I'm tired of this Xenon! Please, can you just stop calling me that? I told you to call me Zero from now on." "I understand, but you can't just change your name just because mom and dad died. You don't see me changing my name just because mom and dad are gone." Zero grabs Xenon by his shirt pulling him close till his lips reach his brother's ear, Zero whispers to Xenon. "I'm Zero, this is who I am ever since I was a child, I'm the definition of nothing." Xenon nods in fear as Zero let's go of his shirt slowly.
The younger brother walks into his new bedroom with a worried face. "I'm nothing, nothing, nothing." Zero thinks to himself. He enters the bathroom turns on the sink, looks at himself in the mirror and starts speaking to himself. "Why are you so stupid? You're nothing, I'm so tired of you!" "You're useless. You couldn't even save your loved ones." "One day I'm going to finish everything, for now, I'm just going to give you a real reason to cry. I'm going to kill you!" One tear starts to run down his cheek. "Only one tear really. Let me guess it's because you couldn't save mom and dad. You're useless."
"You're nothing," Zero says intensely. Zero leaves the bathroom and approaches his new bedroom door, he holds the knob and takes a deep breath. He walks into the room and sees his younger brother. "Zero, Are you ok? Xenon asked. Zero doesn't say a word and heads to bed. "Ok, that's fine." Xenon says nervously.
Zero wakes up in the middle of the night realizing it is 11:45. "Great, I can't even sleep enough now." Zero whisper to himself. He walks up to his book bag and takes out a small blade and walks to the bathroom. Zero looks at himself in the mirror then looks at his wrist. "I'm lucky I wear this bracelet, if I didn't all my scares would be visible to everyone." He removes the bracelet and examine his wrist looking for vans before he starts cutting himself. He starts cutting himself, reopening some of his old scares. "It's annoying that I don't feel pain from this anymore." When Zero finish he cleans up all the blood off the blade and sink and turns off the water.
He walks into his room and quickly puts the blade in his bag. He lays down on his bed and that's when Xenon awakens. "Zero are you ok?" He doesn't respond. "You can just stay silent all the time, speak to me please." He stays silent. "Ok, goodnight then." Both Xenon and Zero face opposite to each other. Xenon falls asleep immediately but Zero stares at the ceiling until he falls asleep.
