The Next morning I woke up with a thought in my head, I thought of catcalling, and how it's usually a struggle for me on a day to day basis while going out to do my daily jobs and tasks, so I thought of writing about the problems with catcalling in New York. I began typing on a word document on my computer.
I started typing, "As a woman who has lived in New York for the past four years, I can dearly say that I have run into some catcalling over the years. One time back in summer 2019, I was watering plants outside of the local Coffee shop that I worked for, and There was this tall man who walked past me and shouted, 'Damn that ass, though.' I looked back at him, and I said, 'excuse me?!' He stopped to look at me, 'Sorry I'll repeat myself. Damn that ass, though.' I kept my cool and said, 'have a good day, sir.' Then I continued to water the plants. The man who harassed me before thought it would be an excellent idea to slap my ass. I drew my last straw. I pulled my hand back and punched him bright centre in the face as hard as I could. I didn't care if I would get arrested or charged I couldn't let some brat touch me without permission, I'm worth way more than that. He bounced back from my punch and fell on his butt as he hit the ground he yelled from the top of his lungs, 'HOLY SHIT! THAT HURT!' He got off the ground as quickly as he could and started running off immediately."
I stopped typing and took a break; I walked down the stairs and made myself some cereal and coffee. "damn this quarantine has put people mad" she looked at her phone seeing her friend Ricky send her mass amounts of text messages about how he was spat on in the store earlier. I text back saying "the police is always an option y' know." Ricky stated that he did, but honestly, I highly doubt he would've since he is too scared to even do anything about stuff like that. I just told him I had to go and I went back to my room.
I sat back at my computer to write more; I started typing, "Another story from a couple of months ago, it was Christmas and me was trying to get something for my family, they're in Scotland, and I'm still in New York, so I want them to know I remember them every day. I decided while I was shopping to get a slice of pizza, I went to joes pizza that one place that was shot in a Hollywood movie back in the late '90s. I got a cheese pizza, and I continued my day while walking down the street this girl decided to walk with me, she started hitting me up and started calling me beautiful, hot, smoking, sexy and honestly I got uncomfortable, I apologised to her and said I wasn't interested, but she kept pushing it. She asked me 'How would you know if you're not interested if you haven't tried me out yet?' At this point, I panicked and said, 'I'm straight, I apologise, please don't take it personally.' She didn't get the hint, and she kept following me. She walked with me for 35 minutes, trying to convince me to go to her place, but she got bored and walked home. I finally got to get my family gifts for Christmas, and I went back home. When it comes to catcall, I have no patience, but I do try to be very patient with myself, and I tend to move forward. I suggest you too! We are all healthy and strong-minded, and we can do anything so don't stress if you get harassed on the street, they're not worth your time. That's the end of my stories on catcalling jerks; there is plenty more, but I think two is just enough to tell. Have a beautiful day, you beautiful soul."
I finish off my sentence and turn my computer off. I finish my coffee and head to bed for a good night's rest.
