Scott looked up when Mitch sat up. "Scott, go to sleep," the brunette scolded.
"I'm not tired, though," Scott said.
"Too bad, go to sleep," Mitch said.
Scott sighed, sitting up as Mitch got out of the bed. "The point of me sleeping here is so we can hang out," he pointed out.
"Well, too bad," Mitch said. "Tomorrow is prom, and that means that I'm going to go check on the tour bus." The singer's eyes filled with longing. "I don't get to walk across the stage at graduation, but I get to go to L.A., so there's that."
Scott watched him sadly. "It's so sad that you can't go to graduation," he said.
"Well, I can't," Mitch said, sighing. "But, I do get to go to L.A., and that's so much better."
"It is," Scott agreed. "I mean, it's more important. But you wanted a good high school experience, and you don't get to walk across the stage."
"Write about it," Mitch begged him. "I wanna make it a song."
"Mitch, you can't write a song about something you've never experienced," Scott chided him.
"Then you'll help me," Mitch said.
Scott hesitated. That didn't sound bad, actually.
"I'll think about it," he said.
He would think. But what he actually planned to do was think of how he could get Mitch to do the graduation ceremony with him.
_
Meanwhile, they had prom.
Scott got dressed slowly. He and Mitch no longer had any reason to pretend they weren't together, so they were going to announce their relationship at the prom.
Scott sighed, pulling on his suit. It was simple, and dark, with white lines around his collar.
He liked this suit, and hoped Mitch would like it too. Kirstie had helped them pick out what to wear. They didn't know what the other had on. He hoped Mitch was in something he'd like.
Of course, Mitch could wear anything at all and still look incredible.
_
Scott went later to pick Mitch up. The brunette boy came out of his house, and Scott felt his jaw drop.
Mitch was wearing a black dress, with black rings down the middle to his waist, which had a circle of the design around it. He was also wearing gloves.
He looked amazing.
Mitch got to the car, and smiled shyly as he got in. "Hi," he said.
"Hi, you look amazing," Scott said.
Mitch laughed. "I like wearing dresses," he said. "I just hope no one thinks there's anything wrong with it."
"No one can say anything because no one can deny that you look so. Good," Scott said.
Mitch blushed. "I love you," he said.
"I love you too," Scott replied.
"Of course you do," Mitch said. "Everyone does."
Scott laughed. He really did love this boy beside him.
_
When they got to the school, everyone was staring at them. Scott noticed a few people checking out Mitch, and he pulled his boyfriend closer.
Mitch looked up at him. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Some people are quite openly checking you out," Scott responded.
Mitch looked around. "So?" he asked. "None of them will take me from you."
A boy ran up to them. Scott recognized him as Ben. Ben had always been popular because he knew Mitch and Kirstie before they came to school. He was their cameraman. He was the only person in the photography club with any kind of popularity.
"Hi, Mitch," Ben said excitedly. "Wow, you look great." He pointed off to the distance. "There's some paparazzi over there," he said. "They're trying to record you and Kirstin arriving."
"That's fine," Mitch said. "I saw them, actually."
"Okay, I just thought you should know," Ben said.
"Thank you," Mitch said. "Now, get back to Kirstin."
Scott turned to his date as Ben hurried off. "You didn't mention the reporters," he observed.
"I thought you'd know they were there," Mitch replied. "I love you," he added, and reached up, wrapping his arms around Scott's neck and kissing him.
Scott felt dazed when Mitch pulled away. The brunette grabbed his arm then, and they walked into the school.
As soon as they got in, Kirstin ran up to them.
"I still think those outfits look amazing on you," she said.
"I love them," Mitch replied, grinning.
"I'm glad," Kirstin said.
"Hey, you look great, too," Scott said.
It was true. Kirstie wasn't in a dress, necessarily; she had on a black shirt, with a midriff, then a black skirt. She was wearing black sandals, and holding a white bag. It was a simple outfit, but so elegant.
"Thanks!" Kirstie beamed. "I love this outfit so much."
"I love it on you," Scott told her.
"So do I," Mitch added.
"Mitch, you helped me to pick it out," Kirstie told him. "So it's pretty clear that you love it."
Mitch laughed. "I get to compliment you on the outfit I picked for you," he pointed out.
"Yes, you do," she said.
Mitch smiled, kissing her on the cheek.
"You're such a pretty person, Kirstie," he said. "You look amazing in whatever you wear. Where's Ben, by the way?"
"Oh, I don't know, he wandered off," Kirstin said.
"He came up to us earlier," Mitch said. "He must be looking for you."
Kirstin laughed. "Oh, I wouldn't be surprised," she said.
"You shouldn't," Mitch said.
Kirstin rested her head on his shoulder. "I still can't believe we have to miss graduation," she whispered.
"I know," Mitch whispered back.
"Right now, though," Kirstie said, "We'll enjoy the prom."
"We will," Mitch agreed.
***
This was bad and a filler, I'm sorry. I wanted to show prom. Do you think Scott will persuade Mitch and Kirstie to go to graduation?
