Chapter six

I sat in my room thinking about what Hana had said the other day. About me hanging out with a lot of guys. She had texted me earlier about Bakugou, asking me if I like him.

What are you thinking Koko! Of course you don't like him, he's a friend of yours, just like all the others!

No. Hanging out with him feels different than when I hang around Kirishima, Kaminari, or Ashido. It felt nerve racking. My heart would speed up and my hands would get sweaty. At one point I would do something I wouldn't normally do, thinking it would impress him. I knew what this was, because Hana (who was boy crazy) would tell me about it all the time.

"Shit" I mumbled under my breath. Accepting it made it even worse. I picked up my phone, turning it on to see Hana and I's conversation.

H-Hey you have a crush on Bakugou right?

K-WHAT? Of course not, that's crazy, that would never happen!

H-Yeah, you totally have a crush on him!

K-Ugh!

I texted her telling her about my newfound discovery, and a couple minutes later I heard a knock on my door.

"YOU HAVE A CRUSH!" Hana tackled me as soon as the door was open.

"Geez, calm down, it's just a small one."

"Nooooo, it's totally huge! I bet he likes you too!"

We sat up in my room and Hana interviewed me about my feelings for him for about an hour. That was when the conversation shifted.

"So. I see you hanging around that group of people a lot. Are they best friends of you or something?" Hana inquired.

"I guess you could say that. They became mine and Bakugou's friends because they're the few people who don't piss him off. Well, they do, just not as much as anyone else." I answered, wondering why she cared.

"Tell me about them."

"Well Ashido's the pink one. Her quirk is acid, but I'm sure you already know that," I started, remembering their fight. "Kirishima's the one with the red spiky hair. His quirk is harden, and it makes his whole body hard. Finally, Kaminari. The one with the bolt in his hair. His quirk is electricity. He can't shoot it out safely just yet, or else it shocks everyone, including innocent bystanders and other heroes."

"Interesting." She suddenly got a far off look, and I could tell she was thinking.

"Y-yup. Very interesting."

"You said Kaminari can't shook electricity out safely, without hurting everyone around him?"

"Yeah. And the funny part is that if he uses it too much his brain gets pretty much fried." I laughed, trying to break the awkwardness that was slowly growing in the room.

"And Kirishima, his hardening quirk. Does that make him invincible or something?"

"No, it can be broken, and he can only use it for so long."

"And Ashido. You didn't mention any limitations for her."

"I don't know if she has any or not."

"What about Bakugou? What are his limitations?"

"All I know is that if he uses too much at once then it will hurt his body. That's why he has the gauntlets. So he can shoot big blast without hurting himself."

"Hmm."

She once again got a look that suggested she was thinking, and we stayed silent for a couple minutes.

"And you care for them dearly, don't you?"

"Yes, of course."

"Like, 'I would do anything for their safety' kind of care?"

"Um, Y-yeah, I guess..."

"Hmm."

"I'm sorry but what does this have to do with my crush on Bakugou?"

"Well, I've got to get home before my mom gets too worried! See ya later Koko!"

And with that she left. I loved Hana, but something deep down inside me knew that I shouldn't have told her what I did.
