2,000 years in the past

Deep into the universe there stood a world unlike others in existence, typically this world would be peaceful and within, its people attained many different powers. Be that as it is, there was no hate or crime in this world. The people here were all unicorns, or what is known to most as unicorns. These people had the ability to shift between a humanoid form and a majestic horse like animal with a single horn protruding from the center of its skull.

At this time the peace was interrupted abruptly by a strange new force of reptilian like humanoids. These beings were called the Moura. At first they came on the pretense of finding a new home, befriending the local population. At first the Moura were frightening to the population of unicorns whose beauty was unmatched in the universe, they had long semi twisted, scaled bodies. Their aces were elongated, slitted eyes, and forked tongues with long sharp pointed teeth. During their stay they had discovered various things about its people and the world itself. It thrived because of the resources were so abundant that there need not be any fighting over them. Because of this there were never any wars. The most abundant of these resources was a type of crystal which was called a phantom crystal in the local language.

In truth this was the most rare crystal in the universe it just so happens to thrive off the magic that was over abundant in this one world. The abilities of this crystal was life sustaining. The amount of energy it produced was beyond anything else. The locals tended to craft jewelry out of it as a charm.

For the sake of profit in this universe these invaders began a grand scheme to obtain the rights to this planet and that crystal. What the Moura were in fact were scavengers. Everything was for the gain of profit and resources. They never held a stable home anywhere and no one truly knew where they originated from in the first place. Be that as it may, they reigned terror and destruction everywhere they went. They were an extremely powerful force that have yet to find a match.

After months of gathering Intel on the peaceful inhabitants a plan was hatched. Unfortunately, one night a young girl was frolicking in the field near an old abandoned building. Her little curls bounced and waves in the wind as she played in the field. She had delicate features with tiny freckles dotting her nose. Her eyes were clear and bright and the color of amber. She simply glowed with youth. As she passed near the building she overheard the plot being born against her people.

"We will wait until nightfall in three days, shut off all of the power and water sources. There will be 5 teams surrounding the city here as it is the largest city. Once we take care of it the rest will be easy. Go into each house and slaughter everyone do not leave a single one alive. We can't have them alerting the other towns..."

'Snap'

"What was that? Quickly go find out what that noise was if it was one of the villagers," The leader curled his twisted lips up and his eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty and murderous glint. "Kill em!"

"Sir!!"

The little girl was petrified at first until that last order of command was issued. 'I have to run and warn the elder!'

She shape-shifted and ran as fast as her little legs could carry her and quickly disappeared from the sight of the Moura. They never caught a glimpse of her and she quickly reached the elders home.

'Slam!'

Just as the elder was about to lay down for a nap when his door was furiously slammed open and an anxious little body rushed in like a flash of lightning and pounced on the old man.

"Elder.. Elder! You have to help! The Moura are planning to kill us all we have to warn everyone! Hurry Elder.'

The elder face went from furious to shock to horror within an instant. A determined light appeared in his eyes as he rushed out of the door leaving the balling little girl crumpled on the floor after absentmindedly tossing her to the floor in his haste.

The plan within the village was simple to get the royal family out! They already knew they had no way to fight back but to safeguard the royal family and as many as they could fit into the stockpiled ships off the planet and away from danger.

That night a grand fire burned the city... while slaughtering the people one by one the Moura noticed many villagers and the royal family was missing. The issue with the royal family going missing was simple, they held the key in their bloodline to open the magical gates guarding the crystal cave. These crystals might grow in abundance but they were still considered precious enough to not allow too many of them to be harvested, so because of this the royal family had them locked away allowing the entire planet access to them two times a year to gain what they needed.

Because the ships left without anyone's notice the Moura were infuriated, they slaughtered everyone that was left on the planet and plundered what resources they could. Since the royal family had left in secret without anyone's notice, the Moura began to search the cosmos, one world after another for the royal family. Each one they had traveled to they plundered and reigned death and terror upon the worlds they had visited.

By the time the Moura had noticed the absence the ship had already flown far away from their home, lament in their hearts as they knew they would never be able to return.

Several years after they began their journey they landed on a planet that was abundant with life and plenty of space for their tiny population. They had decided to settle in the forests and concealed their origin. The royal family was then treated as the rest as per their order so that they would not be discovered.

This plan worked for many years until the humans of the world took notice. since then they had been hunted down for the magical properties of the horns. over the centuries they then dwindled to a family of three where the mother was pregnant with the fourth.
