XXXV // The Wedding Cake Disaster

My step-mom turns to me, her hands shaking, "Noah, thank you for this. I love your father and I am beyond excited to be your step-mom." She looked stunning in her white wedding gown, her dress was long and her vail was longer.

My bridesmaid dress baby blue with a slit down my leg. The top half was laced, "I am glad he found you. He needed a woman in his life to kick him into shape."

She walks over to me and places her hand on my shoulder, "He already has one." My smile grew as I watched her nervously walk at the back of the line to get ready for the walk down the aisle. My hands gripped the bouquet in my hand as the music began. This was it. The stress was over.

Nathan held my hand tightly, "You ready?" I turned to my brother in his suit, he looked amazing. Both replying I looked around for Katherine. Wondering if she and Nathan decided on a plan for the kids and her. "Noah, you know you're my best friend right?"

I looked up at my brother who was smiling nervously, "Of course."

"No I mean like you, Norman and I have been through hell together. And at the end of the day we always have each other," Weddings made everyone emotional not only the bride and groom.

The pair in front of us walked out and down the aisle, "Ohana means family. At the end of the day they are there."

"Cheesy," He says nudging me. I laughed as we began to walk around the corner to the music and our cue. Nate linked his arm with mine and we walked slowly down the aisle.

There were about six rows of seats with 12 seats in each row. I noticed Kelsey and the boys sitting on the first row on my dad's side. Dani looks towards me and smiles with a thumbs up, "I brought the house." Nate whispers into my ear as we reach the end mark. We separate from each other and stand on our sides. I stand right behind where my step-mom will be standing.

My dad looks to me and leans over kissing my cheek, "Thank you." As he pulls away we all turn to the end of the aisle where my step-mom walks down. My heart was racing, this was really happening. After many years just me, my brothers and my dad we were officially going to be a full family. And I couldn't be happier.

As she reached where we were she turned to me and gave me her bouget. I held the flowers beside me and allowed my father to live his happy ending. "We are gathered here today for the union of..."

As the priest spoke I turned my head towards the front row, Daniel smiled towards me. That smile had my stomach in knots. At the beginning of this year I was moving in with him, weeks later I was running away. And now here I am somehow tangled up in his arms again. Unable to lose his grasp. But I had realised I wasn't trying to break his grasp, I wanted to tighten it.

Of course, I worried that I would walk up to him one day and what happened would happen again. The lack of trust in one another or the lack of communications. I worried every second of every day. But I also fell into deep every second of every day. We fell together. I may not realise where I wanna be in years to come but I know who I want beside me. The most worrying thing on my mind was worried that if those ocean eyes aren't waking me up in years to come I won't cope. I won't cope without your ocean eyes.

Zach walks up to Corbyn and I waiting by the buffet table and sighs in frustration, "I found this weird tasting chicken. Is it under cooked?" He says holding a piece of shrimp up. I turn to Corbyn whose mouth shuts as he tries to not burst into a laughing fit.

"Zach honey," I say grabbing the shrimp out of his hand, "That is shrimp. Sea food. Not chicken." Zach looks down at his now empty hand and brings it up to his face giving himself a little slap.
